Half Acre Goneaway WCIPA (Chinook/Simcoe). Been a long minute since I've had this one. Glad they've decided to bring it back. Tasting pretty much just how I remember it. Full of spruce, pine resin, ruby red grapefruit flesh and peel, and some floral. Bready and slight caramel malts balance it out, but allow the hops to still shine. Good bitterness. Old school through and through and bringing me a lot of nostalgia. Wish they would bring this one and Vallejo back to year round offerings. Awesome stuff!

Soft, pastel yellow-orange body; thick, frothy, sticky head, white and billowy, long-lasting; huge, soft globs of foam cling to the inside of the glass. Scent emanates grapefruit pith with a solid oat backdrop; tangerine. The taste presents light elements of oat-like cereal grains with a fairly bold citrus pith and hop bitterness; grapefruit rind; some phenol bitterness. Heavy body; rich and velvety with a decidedly sharp boozy and bitterness bite; nice residual sugar heft with some boozy warmth percolating underneath it all.

I didn't pick up any berry flavors per se (re: the brewery's description), but the grapefruit aspect is spot on.

...the painting to the left is an oil sketch by our good friend Kay Jeansonne (out of Louisiana)...it's of the barn at Blodell Reserve on Bainbridge Island, Washington (a favorite spot of Mrs. BeerGoot and mine, and a pleasure to share with Kay and her friend Peg a number of years ago when the four of us made a road trip to WA from CO)...

It is Johnny's Gold Brick time....which means at least one Old Fashioned (sorry Mods ha). It is not $2 Old Fashioned's, that is Tuesday, but it is still half off...so there you go.

They also have to be SO different from everybody else, and do Fish & Chips on a Thursday, instead of Friday...yeah they have a codex of happy hour deals ha.

Anyway, their Fish & Chips are ridiculously good. Yellow Rose in the glass.

Wolfe’s Neck. An IPA brewed by Maine Beer Company. I hope my tears don’t dilute it any after getting a call from the service station about the cost to repair my car.

Great Heights South Island Pale Ale in the glass, always good.

And...one of my crown jewels of my collection spinning. An original, 1958 Blue Note pressing of Something Else. Of course by Cannonball Adderly, with Art Blakey, Hank Jones, Sam Jones...and this guy called Miles Davis...I know there are lots of fans of this one that post here :sunglasses:

Hop Butcher/Humble Sea Take the High Wave WCIPA (Nectaron, Mosaic, HBC-586). Big nectarine, yellow peach, big passionfruit, lemon zest, berry, grapefruit peel, floral, little diesel. Big hop thiols on this one. A dry, crisp, and clean new school WCIPA with a pronounced bitterness. This is super good. Disappointed I didn't get more than one can.

Just arrived home after a 3-day, 2,072-mile drive from St. Louis to Seattle (the final, 682-mile leg, started in Bozeman at 6:30 this morning). About 3 hours ago I stopped briefly to view the Columbia River Gorge. Now I’m going to sit down and have a beer. Cheers!
