First day of college football calls for Sam Octoberfest. Really no games I'm interested in until later, but I'm checking out the Vandy game since I'm heading up there for a game later this fall.

 

NBW cross-post. This is a solid addition to Toppling Goliath Brewing's NEIIPA lineup. Happy birthday, @AzfromOz! I went to Lambeau Field this morning to pick up a new jersey and other gear for this season. The excitement level for this Green Bay Packers season and the 2025 NFL draft is off the charts. Buildings are going up all over town. I am going to listen to Brazilian heavy metal and speak negativity about the Philadelphia Eagles for the next week.

Well, it's that time of year, and the season is starting with a decent match up. Had to go with some Pennsylvania rye to show rooting interest, since I had no beers in the house from either PA or WV.


I did choose a beer from near PA, on the opposite side of the state from PSU's opponent. Nice to see the good guys score as I typed this up.

Picking up donated beer for my wife's dog fair at Counter Weight. Had to have some pours of course. L to R Helles, First, NEIPA. All good

 

This beer is not as delicious as I expected, given the pedigree it comes from. Maybe it is old. But I never know how old IPAs are, because whenever I go to the liquor store, I look for canning dates on IPAs that interest me, and the dates are always unreadable on all cans, from every brewery. Yet on stouts, which age well, the dates are always very clear. This can says, "Beer balanced by science." But no technology can create readable canning dates on IPAs. Our artificial intelligence cyborg overlords, who will eventually take over, will likely still struggle with this, many years in the future.

I saw WWE SmackDown last night, and was determined to watch the event that is on right now, but the weather is too perfect right now. The Milwaukee Brewers will keep me inside tonight, so I will have to miss it. I must spend the afternoon outside.
