    Good lineup:

    THE BEERS

Ayinger Privatbrauerei | Aying, Bayern Germany
    Ayinger Oktober Fest-Märzen | Märzen
    5.8 abv% | 330 ml bottle
Rich, amber-golden color. Deep, inviting, malty nose and bready, wonderful flavor that’s an ode to barley. Medium to big body, with a touch of warming alcohol on the finish. Soft dryness from long maturation.

Staatliches Hofbräuhaus München | Munich, Bayern Germany
    Oktoberfest | Festbier
    6.3 abv% | 330 ml bottle
The Munich Beer Festival, or Oktoberfest, is an event of superlatives - it’s the largest popular festival in the world, staging in the beer metropolis of Munich. Millions of visitors from all over the world flock along every year to enjoy its very special atmosphere. For this occasion, Hofbräu brews a rich, full-bodied beer which goes down ideally with traditional Bavarian cuisine. With its deliciously bitter taste and alcoholic content of 6.3% volume, Hofbräu Oktoberfestbier is as special as the Beer Festival itself.

    Human Robot | Philadelphia, PA
    Festbier | Festbier
    5.6 abv% | 16 oz can
Festbier is all about drinkability. Ours is brewed with German pilsner malt, a touch of Munich, and Hersbrucker hops. After an intense double decoction mash, the beer is fermented slow and cold. A cracker like aroma, clean, honey like sweetness and just enough hops to balance it all out.

Jack's Abby Craft Lagers | Framingham, MA
    Munich-style Festbier | Festbier Lager
    5.4 abv% | 16 oz can
When it's time to fest, count us in! This golden, unfiltered lager offers a delicious contrast to the amber beers of the season. Expect a slightly sweet, moderately bitter and super crisp beer built for the fest.

Live Oak Brewing Company | Austin, TX
    Oaktoberfest | Festbier
    5.8 abv% | 12 oz can
Our Oaktoberfest is decoction-mashed honoring Bavarian tradition using the finest German malts. Noble hops balance this rich malty fullness with a subtle smooth hop character. A fall classic. O’zapft Is!

    Notch Brewing | Salem, MA
    Festbier (2024) | Festbier
    5.7 abv% | 16 oz can

Paulaner Brauerei | Munich, Bayern Germany
    Oktoberfest Marzen | Oktoberfest Marzen
    5.8 abv% | 330 ml bottle
An amber beer style that was developed over 200 years ago to celebrate the original Oktoberfest. The Märzen name comes from “March beer” because it was historically brewed in March to be at peak flavor for the Oktoberfest celebration. Today this style is available year-round in the US due to popular demand.

Schilling Beer Co. | Littleton, NH
    Konstantin | Märzen
    5.0 abv% | 16 oz can
Konstantin is a rich, light-ruby colored seasonal lager. Double-decocted for complexity. Drier and lighter in color than most German-style Märzens, biscuit and bread-like malt note shine in the flavor and aroma

    Spaten-Franziskaner-Löwenbräu-Gruppe | Munich, Bayern Germany
    Spaten Oktoberfestbier (2024) | Festbier
    5.9 abv% | 330 ml bottle
Spaten Oktoberfest is a medium bodied ur-marzen with aromatic roasted malt flavor and deep amber color. First served at the 1872 Oktoberfest making it the World's first Oktoberfest beer. Spaten Oktoberfest is used for the ceremonial keg tapping by the Mayor of Munich to kick off the Oktoberfest festival.

Von Ebert Brewing | Portland, OR
    Festbier | Festbier
    6.0 abv% | 16 oz. can
A modern Bavarian-style festival lager, single decocted, brewed with German Tettnang. Notes of rich malt and honeysuckle.

von Trapp Brewing | Stowe, VT
    Oktoberfest | Märzen
    5.6 abv% | 12 oz can
This full-bodied amber lager is brewed in the traditional Märzen style. A blend of light and dark Munich malts creates notes of graham cracker, caramel and bread crust complemented by floral and peppery aromas from Hallertau and Tettnang hops. Say """"""""""""""""Prost"""""""""""""""" with this crisp and celebratory lager.

    Wayfinder Beer | Portland, OR
    Spider Dance | Festbier
    5.3 abv% | 16 oz can
Collaboration with our friends at Grand Fir Brewing. Bready malt, floral hops, balanced & poundable. Makes your day better.

I don’t have access to most of those, but my cousins drove up from Austin this weekend and brought me the Live Oak Oaktoberfest, which is delightful.

Seems like a pretty solid box overall!

$85 for a 12-pack of beer? I paid $17 for a 12-pack of Paulaner Festbier today. I'll stick with my deal.

    Oh, there definitely was.

Well, at least *part* of Chicagoland -- I see it available where the city distro covers locations.

I can't get most of them so I ordered.
Obviously I prefer when these boxes include shipping, but life goes on. End of summer gift to myself!

I was referring to the quality/selection of beers, not the value.

Value is obviously a personal decision. Yes, it’s more than buying a 12 pack at the store. But it’s probably less than you’d pay for beers at the bar.

    For me, worth it.

If most weren’t already available in my area and I had more funds, I could see ordering this. These are some of the best Oktoberfest in the world.

Me too. Is it a box of westvleteren? Imo, the great German beers in the style are all comparable. The fact that they aren't rare or too hard to get is a reason to respect brewing. A house like paualner that puts beer out in the amount that it does, in thet styles that they do and at the level of perfection that they do is very impressive and ultimately important.

Only brewery on the list I haven't had any beer from is Live Oak.

Definitely a list of great German and American lager breweries.

In my area 12 beers at a brewery would easily be over $100 on-site. So I can see that.
