Well, if I ever make it that way, this place is on my list. And I would reach out to have a beer or 2 with you!

Brooklyn Brewery Pulp Art Hazy IPA, 6.5% ABV; 3.5 overall

    BBD unreadable, sometime in 2025

Pours a hazed amber with a thumb of cream-colored head. Noce head retention & lacing

S: Some bready notes, grassyness, muted nose

T: Tangerine, green melon, dryness, white grape & pears, plus dryness, a little bit of leafy hops. More dryness, tangerine, woody and leafy hops & white grape as this beer warms up. Finishes with a little green melon, white grape, pomelo, dryness, leafy & woody hops

MF: Medium body, tamped down carbonation

Alright take on the style, we rarely get the good stuff down here & this is another yawner

Good evening all! Been a busy weekend dismantling the portable garage that I had just put up Wednesday for our stealth garage sale. (I don’t recommend this tactic, it rather sucks)
Getting up far too early to get my mom to the airport, so had a nice, easy drinking beer that I had picked up in the Chicago area a month or so ago.

The pour was coffee brown, which threw me a bit, and the impressive head threatened to overflow the glass. Nice looking beer.
The taste was a bit more bitter than I expected, harsh coffee and Cacao with a hint of vanilla. No idea if I tasted the listed hops, but I didn’t look for them either.
The feel is really quite good for the ABV, lightly viscous and very smooth. Altogether a nice beer to finish off the weekend with.
Hopefully we can ease into Monday successfully.
    Cheers!

Bizarre - Flowers of the Sky fresh hop hazy pale

16oz can dated 09/03/24. Bought it at Beer Junction a few hours ago.

Pours a moderately hazy light yellow, medium sized head that settles into a thick skin. Smell is gorgeous. Tons of floral fresh hop resin. Smells like a hop field.

Taste is similar -- hop heavy, bright floral and resin, citrus rind bitterness. Not extremely well-supported from the malt base.

Mouthfeel is on the thin, almost watery side. Overall...wow it smells good, but wow I wish it had a bit more malt backbone to support it.

Well we won our first soccer game of the season this morning 5 - 0. pretty happy for the girls on our team. Finally got around to drinking a beer and sharing with y'all as the rest of the day was catching up with errands, because....soccer!
Im sharing Wallenpaupack Brewing out of Hawley, PA and their Bourbon Barrel Aged barleywine. this 13.5% treat was bought on a whim while visiting PA.

    onto my review:

Sampling a cellar temp 12 oz can poured into my snifter. Date stamp is canned on 5/31/2024. nice!
The beer pours a very clear chestnut color with a little bit of rose highlight. It rests slightly darker in my glass, but still slight red hues.
A fizzy beige head foams up briefly and then fades to only a wispy edge layer immediately after the pour. A small spinning island of bubbles in the center remains through the sampling, but never grows more than a small central shape.
Aroma is a mix of toffee and brown sugar with some rich bourbon notes as well. NO hop character and not boozy or fusol even with the 13.5% ABV. Dangerous.
First sip reveals a medium body and very fine tingly carbonation. Fairly smooth texture with only a bit of stickiness on my lips from each sip.
Flavor is kinda sweet with brown sugar and bourbon being dominant. There is a little peppery booze but no heat and the bourbon note lingers on the swallow. Not really any barrel character and the hops are absent also.
A pretty tasty and sneaky barleywine. I would gladly drink another can of this beer.
    4.2 in the BA DB

Wow, 8 pages. And it's not even a holiday weekend. Well played, faithful fans of fine fermenting.
