Fresh Hop 2024

At the brewery itself last week (maybe still going?), they had a promotion for $7: a10oz pour of their regular Kolsch and 10oz of the fresh hopped version. The difference was subtle but I wouldn't characterize it as a fresh hopping difference. Both were tasty so it was a good use of 7 dollars regardless.

 

Very cool! One of these years I’ll remember to buy the regular version at the same time and try that out.

 

Enjoyed an Away Days FH English Pale with a backyard fire today. It’s not the super bold kind of FH, but I really, really enjoy the fresh Hallertau.

Breakside’s FH XPA with Chinook is like a melon heavy fruit salad in my mouth and I love it. I seem to like fresh Chinooks, but I’ve never had them like this before. Highly recommend.

 

Finally made my annual pilgrimage to Occidental for a pint of FH Pilsner. While expectedly enjoyable, the tap-only Route IPA from their brand partner Further sporting fresh Strata is just as good.

 

Zoiglhaus - Fresh Hop Kolsch

I get some fresh hops in the nose, but very little in the taste. Nice beer, though.

 

Occidental - Fresh Hop Pilsner

Quite solid, as usual.

 

Wow, this smells really good.

 

I know this will surprise no one, but FH Volatile Substance is quite tasty. Heck, I like it even though it’s Strata.

 

came here to post this. easily the one of the best FH beers of the season along with Living Haus Cole.

i was already a few drinks in, and had some sake prior to the Breakside FH offering, so i thought my pallet may have been off. but good golly it was like a watermelon hop bomb

 

All this, and a mouthwatering amount of grapefruit too. It's my favorite FH beer of the season so far.

 

Kicking myself for only grabbing one. I know these move fast so hoping I come across it again so I can snag a few more.

Tried out Little Beast's FH Pinetop IPA last night. I liked it, didn't love it. The label said it was fresh hop and indicated Chinook, Mosaic, and Centennial, but it wasn't clear if all of those were fresh or not. I definitely tasted Mosaic and Centennial, but if the Chinook brought anything it was overpowered by the other two.

 

Biked to Wayfinder yesterday and soaked up some late summer patio time with their Fresh Hop Keller Pils collab with Von Ebert. Nice and light with a proper fresh kick hop aroma before you dive in - one of my favorites this season.
