    Greetings from Crete all!

Yeah, drinking Fix Lager on a bench in front of the sea by 10am. People could think I am homeless, but I’m thinking being a careless tourist instead:

Yesterday we went to Elounda in front of the Spinalonga island, renting a car:

Full Cellar Review comparing my 2/7/22 take vs. today of the same batch linked here. Condensed take is this dropped off a bit, but still solid just over 5 years from bottling.

This has to be my first Two For featuring this artist.

Cheers ChicagoJ, and happy 10th BA anniversary to @thebeers, a fairly quiet individual in the VB, but an asset for sure overall. A sensible and intelligent person.

    Good morning.
I see beautiful places and landscapes, including that of my beloved Greece.
Before returning to the office I also drank some craft beers surrounded by a beautiful atmosphere.
Here was on the "belvedere" on the left side of the beach of Baia Santa Reparata (Sardinia), with a view of Capo Testa.

Dank Brewing (Pesaro, ITA) + Birrificio dei Castelli (Arcevia, ITA) - MANGO FRISKO - Mango Sour Ale (4,5%)

Uncorked it seems like a sweet fruit juice, with lactic notes that emerge when poured.
    Pastel orange colors, non-existent foam.
In the mouth a very light-bodied beer in which light cereal notes (wheat) emerge in the background, but obviously it is the mango that dominates with its tropical sweetness that invades the mouth, before finishing with a note of lactic acid kept super under control and that more than astringent, fades the sweetness of the mango, broadening its flavor range.
Beginning mango fruit juice, finish more like mango yogurt.
Simple, fresh, (intentionally) undemanding... it was the only Fruit Sour I brought with me in a case of 24 and 6 scattered cans, it was what I expected.

Be careful @Jack_14 as this French dingus would be very interested in visiting Italy and Sardinia in particular.

My next move and bucket list so to speak… La Miseria

    Cheers!

You will see more of these photos soon.
I have my summer holiday home there.
A happy oasis for the mind.
This year I finished work on August 4th, I was there on the 5th.
Left the internet, the phone, the television off... Just a long breath of peace and nature before returning to the city jungle.

Today’s exotic brew is a “Bohemian hoppy Pilsner” from Svijany in Czechia - Svijanský Rytíř. Quite good indeed; for a beer with a sort of biscuity-toasty malt base (usually not my jam), this is damn good.

Good day BAs! Thanks @Shanex for opening the virtual bar, and to all our travelers for posting photos from their travels - a bit of vicarious living for us cold weather monkeys. Yinz are there at a nice shoulder season - I've been on the Autostrade in some nasty snowstorms and the Med wasn't pleasant.

Today's New Breakfast Beer, prior to picking up apples:

An interesting RIS from Adroit Theory - woody, leathery, dry, with little hint of the 16.66% ABV!

Final Impression and summation: 4 (After deducting 0.25 point for an undated personal container) Very deceptive! Absolutely no alcohol in either nose or taste – remarkable at 16.66% ABV. Different tastes then the previous RIS’ I’ve had from them.

Rating 4.23, rDev 0% (First review)

Mad Scientist Monkey Temple vanilla hefeweizen, perched precariously on the edge of my balcony overlooking the Danube. It’s … odd. Maybe vanilla isn’t the best ingredient in hefeweizen.

Good day BAs! I slept in this morning. Almost finished unpacking and putting stuff away…time for a coffee break - Westbrook’s Mexican Coffee Cake:

Bottled 5/22/24. Purchased at the brewery 8/28/24. Poured at 56°. The Habaneros are spicy hot in this year’s version. Chocolate fudge, coffee and cinnamon, but the peppers overwhelm the whole. If you like spicy hot stouts, this beer is for you. I have a 2nd bottle and will let it age a few more months to see if the heat backs off.

I have a mini beer share set up for this afternoon at the pub. See y’all later - Cheers!
