Jó reggelt, mindenkinek! Another non-Hungarian beer this afternoon, but it feels special to me, since it’s my first Slovenian beer (so making 72 countries on my BA list). Laško Zlatorog is not super well reviewed on this site, and while it’s certainly not the richest beer out there, it’s a totally drinkable Euro pale lager that doesn’t have any off flavors.

Glad the site appears to be back to normal. Not having issues even with my VPN and private browser mode.
    • Thanks for the open @MadMadMike
    • Congratulations on your 72nd Beer Country @flagmantho
    • Nice start to another great vacation day @jmdrpi ! Hoping more continue living their journeys through us.
Bid farewell to my final can of this, a top favorite Revolution pulled the plug on last year. Link to my Belgian Appreciation thread take here.

I expected this to be at least an annual taproom only release, but they haven't brewed this commercially since this final February 16, 2023 canning. Really hope it returns in the Fall or Winter, I will be there drinking it regularly.

May hit the taproom Wednesday on the way home from the final Oakland Athletics appearance in Chicago at Wrigley Field. Thought about a day trip to Oakland for their final game, but was looking at several hundred dollars, so I won't be closing the Coliseum down.

    Good morning.
This is a modern beer that has a criterion, a balance and that offers an unusual drink, but at the same time extremely sensible and gratifying, even in the context in which it is consumed.
But this is just a personal idea, but to say... I would like this to be available so I can then read the opinion of someone knowledgeable about it.
In my opinion, apart from liking it or not depending on personal taste, these are products that leave room for good debates.
    Certainly an interesting product.

Alder Beer Co. (Seregno, ITA) - WHEKE - New Zeland Pils (4,8%).

    44 cl can (6€).
On the label: "Lot: L150F - Packaging date: 04/07/2024 - Best before: 04/12/2024".
It's a low fermentation with only Pils malt and German yeast (from low fermentation), hopped, in addition to the "noble" Rottenburger, with hops of New Zealand origin: Wataku (which I still know little about) and Nelson Sauvin.
On the nose lively citrus aromas (ripe orange peel, lemon) and tropical and summer fruit (pineapple, melon).
Straw yellow color, clear and slightly veiled.
Foam abundant just right, soft, creamy and very tasty (tropical notes).
As for the taste, probably, without reading the label I would mistake it for a Pale Ale or a Session Pale Ale because it distances itself enormously from the concept of "Pils" that I have in mind: no taste contribution from the malts (no hint of bread crust or cereal in the background), only fragrant fruity hints.
The body yes, it's light and smooth like that of a Pils... but objectively without the emergence even in the background of some cereal or slightly honeyed notes, I don't think I'm able to recognize it as a "Pilsner" style beer.
Lively and fragrant flavors of lemon grass (especially), grapefruit and orange peel that overwhelm the sweeter and more delicate notes that bring to mind ripe tropical and summer fruit (papaya, melon, passion fruit).
The finish is dry: citrusy (not herbaceous or resinous), while on the palate there remains a pleasant taste of citrus peel (lemon grass again).
An incredibly thirst-quenching, tasty and balanced beer, although "unrecognizable" as a Pils.
It gave me truly worthy drinks this summer.

Went for a walk in my neighborhood and found a specialty beer shop called Különleges Sörök Boltja (“shop of specialty beers”) and picked up a few to round out the final night in our AirBnB here on the Pest side of the river. First up is Eazzzy, a session IPA from Romanian brewery Bereta Brewing. Chock full of oaty goodness, I’m digging this one despite some hop weirdness!

Hey there! Diving into this Hopewell Noble Device Northern German style Pils. Not to be confused with Southeastern Northern Germany which leans West. Good beer! and is a collab with Binny's Beverage Depot. Delicious.
