    Good morning.
I'll start the discussion with a beer that really impressed me.

Alder Beer Co. (Seregno, ITA) - DUNA - West Coast IPA (6,5%).

44 cl can (6.50€/7€, at the beershop of the pub Luppolo 12).
It's a West Coast India Pale Ale brewed with Pils and Cara malts and a blend of Australian (Galaxy), New Zealand (Wai-ti and Nelson Sauvin CRYO) and American (Idaho 7) hops. Obviously, an American Ale yeast was used.
On the label: "Batch: L159F - Canning date: 11/07/2024 - Best before: 11/12/2024".
The beer produces fragrant aromas already upon opening: ripe citrus fruits (ripe orange, yellow grapefruit) and summer/tropical and yellow-fleshed fruit (yellow peach, summer plums).
Poured, the aromas explode anticipating the breadth of flavor that will materialize in the mouth.
Beautiful golden color, only slightly cloudy but almost completely transparent.
Foam of the right abundance and consistency: soft and tasty.
In the mouth, beer that flows on a medium body characterized by a right (perfect) carbonation that makes the beer very thirst-quenching despite the "fullness" of the taste.
Fragrant, invasive but very balanced taste that communicates an evident sense of freshness of the product: I perceive above all ripe orange, citrus peel that dominates other tropical and summery scents (melon, white peach, plums).
The more tropical notes remain to peep out behind the predominant citrus taste (again above all ripe orange, but also citrus peel, grapefruit) that leads the drink to a finish with a well-perceptible citrus bitterness (grapefruit) and with some aftertaste that remains on the tongue without precluding lighter and more delicate citrus notes (orange, lemon grass) on the palate.
In my opinion, a beer that reminds me of the true and classic West Coast IPAs (despite the use of hops, new to me, of which I do not know the different specific characteristics by heart), furthermore I find a full and fragrant flavor that is set in a very balanced beer.
I have drunk other works of this kind by the Brewmaster marco valeriani), but this is personally one of those that I appreciated the most thanks to that uncompromising bitter note that really makes my eyes (and palate) shine.

Thank you for your open and enjoyable review from Italy! Will enjoy many WCIPAs, and hopefully find Wet Hop / Fresh Hop beers in Vegas next week.

Today, more cellar clearing, this one nine days shy of a proper cellar review (canned 9/27/23).

Miss the days when I was excited about several movies each year for the Chicago International Film Fest. Hope I find at least 1 or 2 worthy of attending next month.

Good day BAs! Thanks @Jack_14 for your (as usual) excellent review! And @ChicagoJ, the version I was raised on:

followed by today's "New" Breakfast Beer - it's essentially the same to my non-super taster taste as yesterday's, except for more ethanol burn at the same ABV:

Very nice beer selection and post! I enjoy Cab Calloway's version as well, and his other music. Have to admit I didn't know who Cab Calloway was until I was 11 and watched the scene below. The exterior scenes for this song was filmed outside the South Shore Cultural Center, but the concert ballroom was filmed in Los Angeles' Hollywood Palladium.

Great music and scene, though have to admit this selection below featuring Brother Ray remains my favorite from the film, with Aretha Franklin's great performance also in the mix. Sadly the pawn shop moved to 55th street, and the building which featured a mural that survived for 40 years after the film, until it was burned down during BLM riots on Chicago's most deadliest day in recorded history (18 homicides), May 31, 2020.

Ray Charles - Shake Your Tail Feather. Film Location ; Actual Location - Formerly Shelly's Loan Company

Oh my. This is overly bready, overly sweet. Best by November 29th. I bought it from a cooler but I reckon that it sat warm before that. Very hard to drink.

    Prost!

Good morning/day BAs! From the oldies but goodies share I attended on Monday - my “coffee” this morning - Deschutes’ “Black Butte XXIV” (2013) 24th Birthday Reserve:

Best After: 07/23/13. Poured at 54°. Figs and dates nose. Kinda oxidized with cardboard flavor in the mix. Otherwise, still drinking pretty good for 9 years old.

Hot and sunny day on tap. Nothing planned. Maybe I’ll do some laundry. Cheers and have a wonderful Wednesday y’all!

Brew Your Mind Summer Nectar IPA. Hazy in look, but more like a (modern) standard American IPA in character. A fine beer!

Second beer gifted by missus, what did I do for such kindness and generosity? I dunno.

It’s an IPA from around Montpellier. Good!

The Bavarians have a great tradition with Oktoberfest, but in the Netherlands there is also a good tradition with autumn-Bock beer.

I am very happy Heineken decided to allow Amstel do make one again.

Last year they prefered to focus on the Brandt Bock, I assume. I could not get the Amstel one.
And Amstel always have been my favorite. Which is quite ironical as beers of the Heineken Emperium usually get Heinekenized afetr some time.

They changed a little bit from two years ago, Bit stronger I think now at 7 % abv. But still this great bitter toasted taste. Lost a bit fruity banana taste, but this is to my opinion the best dutch darck Bock, can compete with any top dark beer, nice but subtile bitterness and no added sugar.

Had my yearly skin survey at the dermatology office. Nothing looked weird, so I'm good for another year.
Opened up another crowler brought by my son from Albuquerque. This is Danny's Not Here, Mrs Torrance, a watermelon wheat beer from Painted Lady Bed and Brew. It tastes OK..
