Enjoyed the last few hours of Blues Before Sunrise. This is always the closer for Steve's program, the song that got him interested in the Blues.

 

Good day BAs! Thanks @Shanex for starting us off/up and opening the virtual bar. I remember sitting on the steps at the Rod & Gun club on Sunday morning back in my stateside army days, waiting for Frank to open the real bar - army grade malt liquor, scrambled eggs, bacon, and the 3 Stooges on the TV. Oh to be young and immortal again!

But, being mortal now, here's today's New Breakfast Beer:



Being only 30 miles down the road, Voodoo is local - a mediocre fish in an average pond. @ChicagoJ - your experience yesterday was typical of either of the two Meadville locations -
dive bars with VERY limited selections. While their barrel program can be decent (Although they overcharge and release too hot), their bar selections are generally small. I don't go there anymore.

Anyway,

Final Impression and summation: 3.75 (After deducting 0.25 point for an undated personal container) Definitely allow this to warm and drink at cellar to warm temperatures in order to make the barrel characteristics pop. The head was small, fizzy, and not dense, leaving no lacing. At the bottle-suggested temperature (“Serve Cold”) most of the flavor doesn’t appear (at last to my taste).

Cheers @Shanex and all BAs. Today I have my favorite pumpkin beer Roadsmary’s baby. I can’t put it in NBW because I’ve already reviewed it here. Let me tell you how much I despise rum. I can’t stand the stuff and the rum barrel makes this beer for me.


Bright and with a vivid color it’s very enticing. Fat head of lazy foam that streaks the glass. A nose like boozy pumpkin pie. It drinks like beer with a smoothness from the vanilla and the barrel. It demonstrates the reason to use a spirit barrel for beer. The spices aren’t too much and it’s not too sweet.

Today is sunny and the leaves are blowing around like in that movie Halloween. Cheers and Boo!
