What beer are you drinking now? #4359

One of the finest Minnesota beers IMHO. Hoping for safe times for those of you in Helene's path.

 

This is a new beer to me - I didn't know Equilibrium made a porter. It's pretty good too. They don't put dates on their beers, but the store just got these in so I'm assuming it's fresh.

 

Enjoying a Cyro Torpedo. Sad to hear about the demise of the A's.

Another Hazy Little Thing as I await what we will get as the storm nears:



Not much more than a drizzle, driven by steady higher than usual winds…I’ll probably go in and out on the balcony as it feels like the weather is picking up. Cheers y’all from Pinellas Point, St. Petersburg, FL!

 

1) Toppling Goliath Oktoberfest (5.2%): A Marzen from Iowa with flavors of rich bread, toast caramel, brown sugar.
versus
2) Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest (6.0%): A Festbier from California with flavors of Munich bread malts, orange, caramel. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner: Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest
Oktoberfest Battle. First is Toppling Goliath. A pretty standard Marzen with caramel and brown sugar flavors.
Next is Sierra Nevada. Always fun to try their seasonal. Some nice Munich bread notes, lightly floral and some orange citrus as usual. Pretty good one from Sierra Nevada this year I'd say.

While much was said about this beer and Pseudo Sue yesterday, I didn't see anyone mention the artwork on the two.

 

Pizza Port Swami's IPA 19.2 oz stovepipe. One of the best IPAs I've had.

 

Not only is this beer delicious, it's also sessionable at only 4.2% ABV.
