Oktoberfest - Cheers!!

 

Just thought about the possibility the Longshoremen strike might curb import beer supply for a while. Glad all those Oktoberfest beers were already stateside. First half liter went down easy. Why not.another.



Here's a pic from my hurricane shortened vacation in Siesta Key, FL last week. Island got flooded by 3-4 ft. water not long after. Just happened to catch the seagull by chance. Best sunsets there.

The Detroit Style was excellent. Bringing back to my room to refrigerate half, two can definitely split this and go away full.

#1 Beer Advocate Rated Weizen-Dopplebock

 

Just visiting a new place: Marble Fox in downtown Nashville. I grabbed a half pour of their (blasphemous) fruited sour IPA called Torchlight, made with massive amounts of pineapple and a little almond, but no lactic acid. The base IPA is very heavy on lime zest and juicy citrus flavors but the fresh pineapple adds an obscene amount of sugar and sourness, and the almond smooths out the finish. I don't like fruited IPAs but both of the offerings on draft here are very balanced and well done. Not pictured were the BBA quad and tripel I had with lunch at TN Brew Works since it was BOGO pints. Great afternoon and day off and I have a few more stops to shop and drink yet, since this is going to be my only outing for this month.

 

It's been at least six days since we've heard from Tom @CarolinaCardinals over in Western NC.
