Side Project Brewing (2024)

I've had it twice now and really enjoyed it. It's not as tart as I expected from boysenberries and poured a beautiful color. Had a little bit of the vegetal note that I'd expect from those berries which I think helped smooth it out. Definitely worth trying.

 

Maple in the Wood on tap in the parking lot. Not much of a line.

 

To-go bottles are no limit, unbundled.

Was there a 2nd bottle released from the pH1 barrel? Did SP pass along that barrel to someone else?

 

lots of maple and cinnamon on the nose and the taste. good barrel presence. also some caramel plus light chocolate and dark fruits. solid but i just don’t feel like i personally need flavor additives in barleywine. still, very tasty but happy to split three ways. cheers!!

 

I felt the same way about barleywine adjuncts until Continuance B2

S.P.A.C. - Angry Chair x Side Project Collab

Perhaps the biggest, thickest, highest ABV beer we've ever made. This beer starts with a collaborative sticky sweet base stout, then gets hit with hand toasted pecans, Pralines, and multiple pounds of vanilla beans from Vanuatu, Comoros, and Papua New Guinea. The result is layers upon layers of sweet brown sugar pecans with an almost classic buttercream frosting character.

15% ABV. Contains lactose and nuts.

King of Kings - Angry Chair x Side Project Collab

We brewed this Imperial Stout with our good friends from Side Project a little over 19 months ago. Since then, it rested in a Willett Bourbon barrel until we racked it out and added the "King of Kings" adjuncts - A boatload of vanilla beans. King of Kings expresses boozy creme brulee, deep molasses and sugar cookies.

12% ABV. Contains Lactose.

 

I hope it has omion

On that SP pricing model too. $20 per 6 ounces

 

I'm mostly scared of the 187ml bottles.

 

gotta be one of the biggest jokes in craft beer

 

That's also a single serving size for an AC beer since they're so sweet. Can't tolerate much more than that size. Good, but sweet
