Fresh Hop 2024

Yup. I have a FH addiction. I had plenty. Was just at the store on Thursday. Plenty to share even. But this morning I got the itch. Went back and grabbed more. My FH addiction is causing marital problems. She just doesn’t understand.

 

@FLBeerGuy you at the Yakima Fresh Hop Ale Fest? If so, anything to report? My buddy wanted to take a road trip up to Yakima today for BB and SH. I said good weekend to go because of the festival. I couldn’t go because early morning commitments tomorrow. Figured it could get out of hand. Anyway, since I had too much FH in the fridge, he came over and we are doing some work.

 

Just picked that up today. First time I’d seen it.

 

No, I decided $65 was a little too steep for 4 pours. I’m currently at Bale Breakers working my way through their FH sampler.

 

Shoot. Wish I was there with ya. As I mentioned, my buddy wanted to hit up BB and SH. I figured people would all be at the fest and we’d have the places to ourselves.

How is Citra Slicker? Fave of mine.

 

BB is pretty busy, love being surrounded by the hops. Citra Slicker is awesome as was Green Rush

 

Green Rush is legit in my book.

Curious - if you had to declare a FH winner between BB and SH, what says you? You are the voice of Florida.

 

Man, that’s a tough one, it’s really a toss up. BB has it on the ambiance over SH.

 

Being on the hop farm sure doesn’t hurt.

 

Really digging this Educated Guess Fresh Hop Pale Ale at Bale Breaker. Of course, being on the hop farm just adds to the enjoyment.

 

You’re among friends (and fellow FH addicts). I’ll be in Yakima on Saturday but still picked up more beers in the last 2 days than I can drink before then.

 

Did a run today in Cowiche Canyon by Britt Organics where they grow the hops for this beer. That’s pretty cool

 

Closing it out at Cowiche Canyon. They’re out of their 2 FH’s. Had to settle for a Cowiche Creek Farmer Way, which is a pleasant surprise. Single Hill, Schab’s Bier Den and 5th Line are all closed, damn FH Festival!
