I am celebrating a birthday milestone this weekend (60!!) I was thinking about what would be my dream "flight", or lineup of beers that I would like to have if all beers, living or dead, were available to me- I live in Northwest Ohio so right off the bat I'm thinking brews not available here: Pliny the Elder, Heady Topper, "Westy" 12, fresh Pilsner Urquell right from the barrel, you get the idea--What beers would you choose?

That would be extremely tough to pick but I know KBBS and Dave would be in there.

I have had the pleasure of drinking 3 of those 4 (someday I will drink Westy 12) and I think you have a good list there.

Since you live in Ohio you have the good fortune to be able to purchase Fat Head beers. I discussed Fat Heads IBU-sive IPA in the past weekends NBW thread and IMO that beer is excellent.

    Happy Birthday! :beers:

I don't ask for much. I'd settle for:
    PtY (at Russian River)
    Ann (at Hill Farmstead)
    Fou'Foune (at Cantillon)
    Westy XII (at the Abbey)

Maybe he will get a Tardis for his birthday? It is the big 60 after all.

Following up from my earlier post - If it's "living or dead" then why limit yourself to beers that aren't available in your location? You can always travel and have those beers. Instead you can choose: Westvleteren 12 from 1940 - when it was first introduced but just before St Bernardus started brewing it, Blind Pig's Inaugural Ale, Heady Topper when it was just a brewpub beer, and Pilsner Urquell from 1842.

crazy to think that 3 of these were available at Whole Foods.
I've tried all of them ( 3 releases of P4P ) so i can tell you that you aren't missing a lot and your dream should be bigger along the lines of COORS BANQUET FRESH OFFF THE LINEEE

I would rather have a short list of wonderful beers prepared for me by a magical entity that would understand my taste preferences. The beers would need to be reliably available in the local market in bottles at the beer store and on tap at nearby locations. That way I could easily get the good stuff for regular consumption through the years. I'm not interested in wasting my minimal consumption quota on a search for the holy grail.

    I agree with this.
    My dream flight:
    Old Rasputin
    Two Coast Pilsner
    Enegren Nighthawk
    Alesmith Speedway
    Wookey Jack
    Pivo Pils
VVestland (Firestone Imperial Stout brewed at Propagator few years ago)
Bourbon barrels can fuck off ,I can live off these forever.

the "holy grail" of beer doesn't exist anymore(EDIT: i guess it does until you try it and realize that beer ain't shit cuz at some point i chased lots of them then realized it's akin to the saying "DON'T MEET YOUR HEROES") ) . 99% of breweries are all making the same fuckin beers at this point.
