Fresh Hops (2024)

Digging the Citra Shenanigans from Original Pattern. Might be the 'greenest' fresh hop CA beer I've had this YTD.

Wondrous releasing another ipa tomorrow. Lunar Ritual. WCIPA with mosaic + strata.

 

Original Pattern Dank Schrader is good. Wet hop Simcoe.

 

Speaking of prices, Berkeley’s Olfactory hit $9/pint. Think that’s the new norm, but it just feels excessive.

 

Probably going to be my only wet hop brew of the season and I'm really enjoying it. Redwood Curtain Idaho 7 Wet & Fresh Hopped IPA.

The nose is rich with peaches and pineapple and the palate delivers lime zest, underripe pineapple, and passion fruit. Great depth of flavor and excellent balance with the rich fruitiness washing over the palate up front and then finishing with a lovely bitter bite. Man I wish we saw more distributed examples of Wet hopped beer up here

 

Were you saying those guys don’t can anything? Or no distro?

 

I just saw a post from a local shop about Head Full of Fresh Hops coming in. Haven’t seen F2F in cans yet though.

 

Well they don't can anything, but also my area doesn't get any distribution of out of the area wet hop beers

 

They're the only local brewery worth making an effort to visit for sure

I'm used to everything being $9/pint now ($8 for cash only places), anything lower than that feels cheap

 

Laughing Monk Sister Strata (fresh hop strata IPA) is out now. I tried a splash and it's still very green. I picked up a 4 pack because I wanted fresh hops, but I'll give it another week or two before opening a can.

I don't do little guy taprooms as much esp these 4th wave breweries. Stone still does 7 dollar pints of most stuff , even BBA offerings.
Fremont , KRBC and Pizza Port singles are still under 5 dollars so that's a score.

I love Olfactory and the staff in dogpatch but will prolly only buy to go to drink on the muni

Dunno if still on, but Wet Lambo at PP Ocean Beach was outstanding

Flying Purpose, a collab with Bale Breaker.
This one is now my favorite fresh hop this season. Get it.

 

I just came here to see if anyone would comment on this beer. Figures it would be @dcgunman lol I’ll have to swing by to pick up a four pack today.
