Last Beer Ever

    I recently saw a story on our local news channel about a gentlemen with a terminal illness who elected to pursue medically assisted death (legal in VT). Toward the end of the thoughtful, respectful piece, the gentlemen noted that he was going to take the lethal concotion with his favorite beer, Conehead IPA. This got me thinking… if confronted wth a similar circumstance, what beer would I choose to be my final beer? Personally, I go back & forth between high ABV super imperial stouts which I normally avoid due to awful hangovers to a nice subtle table beer. While I continue to ponder, what say you?

    To avoid any potential ethical dilemmas, let’s replace “medically assisted death” with something a bit less controversial and perhaps more realistic: short notice “nonconsenual spousal-elected termination” via a tasteless concoction (so as not to significantly alter the flavor profile of the beer).

    Thoughts?

    Probably a Gulden Draak Prestige Laphroig, followed by a Laphroig chaser if time permits.

    At 28% and a keg of it? You may do yourself in before anyone else gets a chance. Its a nice idea though

    ...tempting to go with a beautiful monster of a beer (already savored or one not tried), but, I'd likely go with a simple beer from my beer swilling beginning -- likely a Stroh's...

    ...I'm a simple man with humble needs (or is that a humble man with simple needs..???...)...regardless, I don't want to complicate my death...

    Well the idea is I’d take my sweet time and put off the inevitable as long as possible. My understanding is that Utopias is basically flat so I could make that keg last a few decades. By then nature will have taken its course.

    When it's your time it's your time. I just want to outlive my mom and die in the black. Anything after that is gravy. I've lived my life on my terms, for better or worse, and I'm ok with the life I've lived.

    I forgot to mention that excessive carbonation acclerates your demise while suboptimal carbonation prolongs life. Discuss.
