I've still got one of those in my cellar fridge. Was hoping for a return of "day of the dark" on WBAYDN, but it hasn't happened. Maybe a good candidate for the cellar thread in February...

 

I did acquire one of those from 2010 recently, and tried it. 14 years was too much for the beer. It seemed to be a hollow shadow of what it should be. Don't wait too long to try it.

Hop Butcher/Half Acre Roost Extra Pale Ale (Centennial). Not sure if this fits the bill of what breweries would consider an XPA in 2024 based on what I've read about the style, but it's made by two of my favorite Chicago breweries and breweries in general. I'd describe it as more of an old school APA and it's a darn good one at that. Breadiness, some toast, some biscuit, and some caramel from the malt balance out the classic Centennial notes of navel orange and ruby red grapefruit flesh and peel and pine. A classic crusher.

 

That's great tune for a Wednesday too. I needed a little pick-me up and that works bro!
