Where did you pick up the Breakside fh? I know TWnM gets their cans. But haven’t been inside a twnm in years. I’m still in search for Cowiche Canyon cans.

Picked them up from Windsor CM. Some of them were a bit old but happy to have access to PNW fh beers at all.

Would love to try Cowiche this year but haven't seen it either and it's getting a bit long in the tooth at this point.

Fremonts HFofFH is good. GC’s Flying Purpose is better. I prefer fresh hops in west coast over hazy. This was canned 9-23. Still in search of Cowiche, draft or cans.

Personally I’m not getting a ton of FH character on this one either, similar to how I felt about Head Full of Fresh Hops. Field to Ferment still the most “true to character” FH release of the 3 I’ve had from Fremont this year.

actually this is getting better as I’m drinking the second half of the can.

honestly pretty sure I hadn’t had any FH beer this season. Then a Proxy homie gave me a surprise hookup.
Had 4 today. The Holy Mountain/Brujo one was by far the standout. Reminded me of monkish and Treehouse Gggreen series.
    Obelisk was 2nd. Super good.

@Jesseix totally agree.....stopped at Oceanside and grabbed a pint and 2 4pks. This is up there as a top tier along with Kern Wet Exit.

While I've never had a bad beer from GC, this was not a big hit for me. I got too much oily perfume. I think it's just a little hot out of the gate. I'll try another can this weekend, and bet it has mellowed nicely.

Drank 5 FH beers last night:
Fremont Field to Ferment - lightest of the group at 6%, very easy to drink, mildly dry.
Burgeon- Single Source- 6.5% - bright, tangy citrus
Burgeon- Fresh Drip- 6.7% - big bag of pot, dank and grassy, thicker texture
Kern Wet Exit- 6.8% tropical, kiwi, aromatic, was favorite of the season until...
Green Cheek- Flying with a Purpose - 6.8%.. Beer of the year, mind blowing in every aspect; nose, body, texture, completely top of the line FH beer of the season and IPA of the year for me. My son said "I can smell that beer from across the room"....

Here is a "Fresh Hop Cold IPA" with Crystal and Cascades from Taproom Beer Co in San Diego.

Aromatic with dark citrus and resins. Thick and malty mouthfeel prickly carbonation. Warm with roasted grain and then bitterness in the finish. Distinct resiny fresh hop taste with apricot and lime peel. Quite hoppy but not overly bitter. Dated 9/20/24.

I picked up two 4-packs of this for my brother’s birthday last Sunday. Both packs were gone within a 1/2 hour and I was the only beer geek there, so I would say this was a hit with normal people and obsessives!

I'm on my third four-pack of Flying with a Purpose, and I'm surprised it's still available, at least in CM.

For me, it's the best fresh hop beer from SoCal this year. It even tops the ones I tried at Pizza Port's Hoptoberfest. It uses Mosaic, one of my favorite hops, and combines a green, resinous fresh hop character like those from the PNW with the drier, lighter style typical of SoCal fresh hop beers, but with more of that fresh hop punch.

Having a Berryessa Freshie pale ale. Light and delicate, 5%, and all mosaic. My favorite FH of the season.

Born Yesterday is out and about with a 9/30 packaging date.

It's better than it's been in the last few years, and a welcome bit of nostalgia up here where there's no other packaged wet hop beers to be found, but it's still a bit shy of it's peaks.
