Today's pre-nephrologist visit New Breakfast Beer, the first random grab from the BA Big Beer Box (2024):



Final impression and summation: 3.5 Ho-hum, another NEIPA/DIPA. I’ve only had eight beers from this brewery, and I’ve rated only one above the BA average. Maybe if they didn’t make a "new" beer every day, they could consistently make a better beer.

WELP.

Wish that I was checking in with a breakfast beer, but that lil bug that my wife brought back from our trip to Oregon (thanks dude in seat 9F) turned out to be COVID. She's laid low, trying to house isolate, so it's gonna be a bit before I dip into the sauce. It had to happen sooner or later, but we'd been lucky these last 4+ years and never had it (or symptoms).

Shit has to get done around the house/yard, and since I'm more prone to the CV19 thing so doing my best to keep at LONG arm's length while playing nurse.We're just lucky that we have an old 1904 house that was originally a duplex so easier to not mix it up on the daily.

Maybe she bounces back quick, or maybe my resolve to not beer will break but either way.... enjoy dem beers!

Hit my first of what I believe to be unsolvable MS Solitaire Daily Challenges, at least per my reverse engineering and the solvers who seem to agree. Read that MS eventually will replace the game with a solvable version.

And the positive side, cracked open my first from the Friday pickup. The glass is cool, but I prefer the snifter to capture the aroma better. Would say this year's vintage is about average vs. prior years, still a solid coffee, a little too sweetm barrel felt more than tasted.

I hope your wife recovers quickly and fully and that you avoid catching it. I’ve had it at least once and while it wasn’t terrible when I was sick, it took my sense of smell. So very strange, but apparently not rare.

 

That’s a good record of avoiding it for the duration. Speedy recovery for the missus and no germs for you!

Hello friends. Another week descends upon us and with the turn and bell of every hour there is a chance to have a beer. I'm a chancer, and I'm having a beer. Rhinegeist Truth. Got turned onto this brew via a now-gone neighbor of my dad in Ohio. This fella had some hops growing up the gable end of his house and so naturally I had to ask. He loved Rhinegeist.
Looks like a good day to do a tiny bit of tree pruning and a little more yard work. Finished two interior wall repairs this morning. Ready for painting. Windy & warm here today. Be safe. Stay healthy. Cheers!
