Sync to Untappd feature?

    What about a sync to Untappd? Would be great to have everything in both places.

    For a bunch of reasons, I don't see this happening any time soon; if at all.

    Just linking Untappd photos to Beer Advocate beer profiles would be cool, but I'm sure it's easier said than done.

    Yeah, we're talking about a massive project that would (at the very least) require: matching all breweries and beers, creating a shared beer database + new maintenance tools + new user forms for adding beers, coding new beer pages to support the images, and updates to terms of use. All that work to display user images from another platform?

    I'd rather allow our users to attached images to their ratings and create our own image galleries for each beer. Still a massive project, but more realistic.

    Maybe instead of syncing to Untappd, we could link it to our BA account and maybe vice versa? It wouldn't be to sync anything, just to show that we have a BA account/Untappd account and quickly access it. And if we do sync any information, it would just be whether we've rated the beer on the other site.

    Might be crazy talk, but would it be possible to allow trusted users to "create" the database? E.g. a Pooh-Bah could add a link to the Untappd beer profile from within BA (or vice-versa), then the links would mesh on both BA and Untappd, of course with the ability for anybody to report a bad linkage.

    All I really want is to be able to open a BA profile from Untappd. I usually look up up beers on Untappd when on the go, despite the fact that I value BA's ratings and reviews more. It's just easier.

    Doesn't have to be an all-or-nothing solution. Currently, it's "nothing", so even a link exchange on only a handful of beers would be an improvement. Over time, I imagine it would fill out nicely.

    Simply linking would be a staggering amount of effort with nearly zero benefit (other than the link, which would somehow need to be maintained).

    The idea that I've presented numerous times over the last five years or so was to have a shared database, which would bring an insane amount of benefit (from data use to SEO) and greatly reduce time spent entering and maintaining the data on both sites.

    Not sure if/when that'll happen though.

    Forgot to reply to this one...
    We did have this for a a little while on user profiles (same with some social media accounts), but I pulled it as very few people used it, some people abused it, links couldn't be authenticated, and it was a one-way street.
    As noted, I don't see syncing of any user information happening.
