Came home to this gifted crowler sitting on my front porch. Villain from Cartel brewing, a great beer from a great dude. This American, English hybrid features nice raisin and pithy citrus notes.

Been wanting to try this beer but can't seem to ever get in that area with time for a pour.

Oh my heavens... Looks wonderful but a little pricey for me, and a designated driver ticket would be a plus.

Pricey for sure and I'm not sure how I'll get home but I might not be able to resist

Back with a good one from Trillium/The Veil
    Drove of Oxen. BBA barleywine.
Big, rich, boozy, hot. It actually reminds me of recent bourbon county stout vintages with its anise/licorice flavors on the back end. 13.9% but if you told me it was 16% I wouldn’t think twice. Will be sipping this for a while and watching the UFC that I wasn’t able to see during the day

Masthead's Dead Drift - Blend of barleywines and Munichwine aged in bourbon and rye whiskey barrels.

Second beer for me on the night and I really don't know what to make of these kinds of draughts. It's almost stout but not stout.

This was interesting…. I was way more afraid of this than I needed to be. Been putting it off for some time now as it came from @Braunmeister_1943 in last year’s IS/BW BIF. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be though. Cheers!!

Lol, while it is true that I do not do well in a buffet setting I don't think this will be a drink all you can in 3 hours of scenario. I did get tickets and if I survive, I'll let you know the day after.

2021 Ol' Lifewine from Matchless. Not quite as good as when it was fresh, but still great.

Reverberant (rye) from Side Project and Private Press. Barleywine aged in rye barrels with Meadowfoam honey. 15% ABV.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours a thick black with zero head. The nose is fantastic. Burnt toffee, honey, vanilla, rye barrel, oak, figs, booze, and molasses.

The taste is super intense and complex. Slightly tannic, honey sweetness, toffee, rye, vanilla, brown sugar, and loads of dried fruit. Prunes and apricots, along with a nice layer of raisin. Phenomenal mix of boozy, sweet, and spicy.

Mouthfeel is insane for a barleywine. Viscous. Just a lovely beer overall.

I am following @Beersnake's lead with a NBW cross-post. Central Waters Brewing Milwaukee Three. The orange label. An English-style barleywine, aged 18 months in cognac barrels. This is very delicious. I capped the bottle after this pour, but I will likely open it up again very soon.

Got an amazing surprise from @Beersnake today, a completely unexpected box of barleywine!

Digging into the crowler of barrel aged Gnarlywine from Bottle Logic now. Did they buy that brand from Lagunitas?

Oh yeah, this is a brazen beast. Biting, bitter caramel and pine assert themselves while brown liquor, raisins, vanilla, light cherries, port, and more round things out. Reminds me a bit of Behemoth from 3 Floyd's. Thanks Tim, this is exactly what I wanted tonight!
