Good day BAs! Thanks @SawDog505 for opening the bar. Another sunny/cold day here on the tundra of NW PA - will rake/burn leaves if the weather holds until afternoon. Harvested my pepper crop yesterday, minus the unripe dudes. They've got a few more days of waning sunlight to live.

Today's New Breakfast Beer is number three from the BA Big Beer Box 2024 - oddly enough, another NEIPA. Actually, I'm grabbing the IPAs first since the good beers will last a while without caring whether the hops pass into oblivion. I'm a lover of imperial stouts, Russian Imperial stouts, and barleywines - NEIPAs kind of all taste the same to me - they're good but incredibly repetitive and boring. I'm not a supertaster - I can't tell if an orange was grown 6.7 miles NNW of Anaheim on the 14th tree, row 12, subsector B, based on the eugenol stimulation of my odorant binding proteins. I DO know if I'd repeat the experience at the current price point, and, so far, I wouldn't buy any of the box brews I've consumed if I had to buy them. If someone else was paying, OTOH ...

Final impression and summation: 3.75 A decent citrusy NEIPA.

    Rating 3.63, rDev -11.2%

Thanks for kicking off the day @SawDog505 .Sorry about your two dogs passing this month with Rizzo's passing @TwilightBeerCareer . Sorry about Teri Garr's passing as well. Let it Ride (1989).

Good overnight for me as the White Sox will hire my first choice Will Venable, after missing the previous two tries (Joe Espada dropped out after 2022, and Jerry rammed in Tony over A. J. Hinch after 2020). Will celebrate with my first of these this season.

    Revolution Deth's Tar (2024)

Looks great, aroma muddled even after warming 20 minutes, barrel / bourbon hits you first, fresh fudge hits you next. Creamy and decadent, strong from Go!. This tops this year's Cafe Deth. Hope they straightened out your allotment @GuyFawkes .

Highland Park native Grace Slick turns 85 today. Shockingly, she is closer to Sox 44 year owner Jerry Reinsdorf in age (88) than Tony La Russa, who turned 80 earlier this month.

    Shit, I'm getting old.

I don’t know about you getting old, anyone who can start off a Wednesday morning with a 14% stout is a stud in my book!

Happy Wednesday ba. Up and at here as it becomes normal. South Down, breakfast stout, sand city. Smooth and clean drinking with sharp notes of coffee grinds, chocolate malt, and brown sugar. Feels a tad thin at times but still nice drinking,

Ha! I was awake most of the overnight hours, but will try to shift to nighttime sleeping after the clock change to continue to get some day hours in. It's easier to day drink when you are retired (I'm 55), and only have one a day most days at home. Planning on taking a nap and picking up an Italian Beef samich this afternoon after a grocery store visit (will look at the Wednesday ads shortly). It may be the final shorts day in Chicago (forecast high 80 F, 15 F higher than Vegas)!

One final thought from yesterday, I need to try a King Cobra based on @nicholas2121 's two for tall boy yesterday. If it comes even close to the greatness of Colt 45 one of my favorites!

It's been 34 days and one city away since my last Pabst Colt 45 Malt Liquor. True story, the beer is named after this Baltimore Colt's Running Back.

I'm sipping on a George Killian's and it's tasting good. I'll be back shortly with a new beer from Black Tooth.

    Prost!

Happy Wednesday morning BAs - another crazy warm (80) and breezy waning days of October here.....the weather is surreal and strange for sure!

This is hitting the spot - one of my all time favorite pumkpins....

Tragically, there was a fire at 3 am this morning, in a rental property next door, killing 2 teens, and their grandmother is in critical condition....very sad and crazy!

Back with Black Tooth Snow Fence, a vanilla Porter. Thin body, not assertive enough with the vanilla. Drinkable.
Sipping on some beef barley soup.

Likely last call for a bit here ba. Have to actually get stuff done. Lambo door, dipa, Grimm. They can be hit and miss on these releases but this one is the best I’ve had in a while. Will grab more cans if I see them,
