My girlfriend and I are headed to Vancouver this coming Saturday and staying until the following Thursday. Looking for must visit breweries and craft beer bars. Staying in Yaletown area of the city. Won't have a car but have no problem taking mass transit or Uber/Lyft to get around. Have some info from the older Vancouver threads, but wanted to know if there's any additional places to check out or ones to just skip all together. Thanks in advance.

Was able to make the best of it with the previous info in the threads posted here. Made it to Superflux, Faculty, Parallel 49, Brassneck and Luppolo for breweries. The beers at Superflux and Brassneck were the stand outs for us.
hmm looks like I missed this post in a timely fashion. Sounds like you hit up a few of the good places. I'll have to keep a better eye out if anyone else plans to venture out this way.
I will try. In town I definitely recommend Brassneck and Luppolo for breweries, the Magnet as the beer bar. Slow Hand is now also pouring Boombox and the two put together makes for a good selection. A lot of my favourite stops these days are in the suburbs. Dageraad in Burnaby and Steel & Oak in New West are easy to get to on Skytrain. If you have a car, you can add Four Winds in Delta (both locations, though Beach House is better), or Beva (North Van). Those are doable on public transit but it takes a bit more work. I mean, technically you can go to Tijuana on public transit if you really want to.
If you come out to New West for Steel & Oak, try Another Beer Co., an easy walk from the Sapperton station (Full disclosure: I work there).
Was able to get to Brassneck today. Definitely worth the trip! I was able to try a beer from Parallel 49 with lunch. Should make my way around the downtown area tomorrow.
On my recent trip, I thoroughly enjoyed Container Brewing and Dageraad (Burnaby). Both have great options for us who love anything but an IPA.
Do any bars or breweries with taprooms specialize (or have any) barrel aged dark beers (imperial stouts, barleywines, etc). I know of Temporal but they don’t have a taproom. I’m in town for the week. Thanks!
yeah sorry, not really anyone doing strong barrel aged anything these days. Maybe a few but they don't typically come out until closer to or after Christmas. You'd be better off taking a day trip down to Bellingham and checking out Elizabeth Station. Our stout and barleywine scene up here sucks. Temporal will be in a taproom with Boombox and Slow Hand but not open for awhile.
Surprising with how many breweries there are here, but I’m having a good time checking them all out. And I did grab some Temporal to have back at home.
It really is quite strange, but likely a cost thing along with everyone here being health nuts. You cross the border into WA and there's dozens if not hundreds of Imperials at any given time
Vancouver really is puzzling for beer. Temporal is obviously amazing, but very few stouts and barleywines being produced by other breweries. Bottle shops are oddly limited as well, at least compared to places like Victoria and Calgary. For a city that size, you would think more would do it.
The ironic part was when I stopped by Superflux, they had a collab with Other Half Brewing in Brooklyn NY, which is about a 45 minute drive from my house.
Bumping this thread as I am looking at Vancouver for a quick in & out place to visit for 3 nights possibly. Not sure what area we would be staying at if we do make it to Vancouver. But if we do is there any new changes since last reported here? Would like to hit at least 2 breweries and a couple of beer bars with local taps. Downtown Vancouver is being considered. If we go, it would be the first week of February. We were considering a quick trip to Tokyo, but were already going to Sapporo, Japan in May. So we'd like to keep this trip more local as we only have 3-4 nights. Thanks.
