Good morning.
Alder Beer Co. (Seregno, ITA) - POINT LOMA - West Coast India Pale Ale (6,5%)
West Coast that I always take when I find it available.
I noticed by checking the review added to the database in FEBRUARY 2023 that now the recipe has been updated with a new hopping.
In fact, the hopping is characterized by the use of: Idaho 7, Simcoe, Citra, Mosaic, Citra Cryo.
In my previous review I noted that the hops were indicated: Amarillo, Cascade, Simcoe, Centennial and Citra
As for the malts, Pils and Cara malts were used, which make it beautiful golden and only slightly cloudy.
Entrance of a soft malt, but not heavy and subsequently an explosion of fruity notes that go from yellow pulp fruit to a ripe citrus.
The finish is pleasantly bitter with still citrus notes to leave a slight bitterness on the tongue, leaving the fruitiest notes on the palate.

Sgt Reckless, that served in the Korean War.

 

This beer does taste better when you don’t have a juice bomb before it.

 

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Grabbed this one today because of the extended New Beer Weekend to honor Vetarans Day and Armistice Day. I love this brewery. They have about a dozen beers total, but all the ones I've come across are great to excellent. Peg this in the latter category.

Bottom line, these malts were smoked with cherry wood, which yielded a great complementary flavor profile to their standard smoked malts. Definitely worth seeking out if you enjoy this style, or perhaps try for the first time if you never had a Rauchbier.

Temp was 40°F, windchill of 29°. Cold enough to bring dogs out, play, come right back in. The way my place is laid out (top floor apartment), the sun is shining directly in, and even with the sliding glass window all the way open, I am being roasted like I'm in a Dean Martin episode.

Anyway, Mich Golden is one I'm finding tastes better from the can than glass. But free beer is free beer....

Barrel Aged Tenth Anniversary Lager from Pollyanna; a baltic porter. The base beer seems OK but the barrel treatment is...putrid? Not recommended.
