My favorite drop of the year is upon us. Straight Jacket is without question my favorite beer regularly produced, and Ryeway is not far behind. Of course, any variation of either of these can only make me more excited. Happy to fill a fridge with these.

Just so happens I'm going to be in the area of Rev in a couple weeks so I said why the heck not and got a cube of DBVSOR; cuz I'd be silly not to!

Pro tip…don’t block the employee car exit when picking up your Deep Wood. Some of us are ornery after a long day.

I've seen these guys driving up and down Kedzie. Hope they took care of business.

Anyone know what the season ticket draft variant is for tonight?

    Looks like D.B.V.S.O.R. Le Cerise.

This is the same lovely blend of sweet, old, Ryewines comprising D.B.V.S.O.R. 2024, but we pulled the ol' switch-a-roo on the finishing barrel, opting for a French Cherry Liqueur barrel rather than an additional round in Bourbon like its counterparts. Notes of cherry are gently elevated over the double bourbon variety, while everything else more or less stays in place.

D.B.V.S.O.R. Le Cerise confirmed. And it's tasty! The cherry is well integrated into the Ryeway universe but isn't heavy handed.

Hoping to get a little advice from the locals. I'll be heading to Kedzie on the 23rd to pickup by DBVSOR and a sixtel; what is the parking like around there? Any particular area for a chance to snag a spot while I run in? Thanks!

I must've missed you by like 30 minutes.

Also thoroughly enjoyed D.B.V.S.O.R. Le Cerise - excellent draft variant.

If you are legitimately just running in to pick up the stuff and come right back out, you probably can park in front of the brewery with your flashers on.

Don’t park in front of the giant open pass through on the north end of the building and you will be fine.

Good to know. That is the most likely scenario as I'm already jacking up the wife's hang out and chill day by having to run and pickup beer; not going to push my luck and ask to stay and drink all the delicious things. Thanks!

STELLAR iterations of Straight Jacket & Ryeway this year.

I found Deth Star excellent as always but perhaps a touch below the 2023 version.

Straight Jacket is easily as good as last year (which was a banger) and Ryeway, my least favorite of the "big three" (sorry, Cafe) last year took a massive step forward. Maybe my favorite Ryeway ever.

Looking forward to trying D.B.V.S.O.R. and the stovepipe but haven't gotten there yet.

@GuyFawkes , can’t wait to try the Ryeway and SJ after those reviews, I didn’t hold back on those two this year

Opened a DBSVOR last night and loved it. Opened a Straight Jacket tonight and it is also killer. Different than last year? Not sure, it’s close but both are terrific. Loved 2022 Ryeway, hated 2023 Ryeway, really looking forward to checking in on 2024 Ryeway soon.
