Front row seat at Club Passim to see Laura Cantrell, but we all know that Charles River Porter in a proper glass is the real star here.

I asked a bartender about closing night. They said they expect it to get very busy in the evening and the goal is to drink all the beer. They don’t think the draft list will be huge but they should have at least a few interesting options. I also asked about what kind of bottle supply remains but she said she’s kept in the dark about that.

I spied new (I think) bottles of 2024 Heather Ale in the cooler when I stopped by for a Wallet Sando and a 2022 YEMS last night

CBC's old flagship pale ale Tale Tale Pale Ale is back after a 7(?) year hiatus. Last night it was pouring amber with a big rocky head. Malty but not sweet with tons of oily orange rind, pine and biting bitterness. More hop forward than I remember it but tasting fantastic on a warm Nov evening on CBC's patio. Grabbed a growler of Charles River Porter on my way out the door too.

Was there last weekend and did the same. I couldn't belive I was buying a growler. Feels like it's been 10 years since I've done that and didn't think I'd ever do it again. But that porter is worth adding yet another empty growler to my collection in the attic.

Lemon Yellow Sun is really good. Yuzu, lemon sour aged in Japanese cedar.

The vaults are opening and the cellar is clearing at CBC. New on tap this weekend: 2022 Blunderbuss, 2024 Cerise Cassee, a 2018 sour I've never heard of and what looks like a fruited blend of barrel aged beers. Also Lemon Yellow Sun is now available in bottles. I'm headed over tonight!

Had a Flower Child and a Tall Tale this past Thursday and really enjoyed both. Classic for their styles.

The End felt like a kaleidescope of the entire CBC barrel program. Absolutely must not sleep on that one.

1000% chance we’re going this weekend.

I should get a hotel or find a hostel as I’m sure there’s enough there I’d want to have pours of to need a wheelbarrow to get me to bed.

I can't emphasize this sentiment enough. Went yesterday and I'm hoping to squeeze one more trip in not just before they close, but hopefully before The End kicks.

Was there close to open yesterday and at the bar were a couple of local brewers who had worked at CBC previously; Ben Roesch (wormtown, now Murder Hill) Megan Parisi (wormtown, sam adams).

Yup, it was an industry day there yesterday. Blunderbuss is tasting great, but my favorite might be the old school IPA Rapid Unscheduled Assembly.

Yep. When I was there yesterday Lee Lord, Todd Mott and Chris Lohring were at the bar with several others.

I’m going tomorrow too, likely in the afternoon. Unfortunately, I don’t think the online tap list is up-to-date. Hopefully they still have growlers available. I’d love to take 64 ounces of something home.

Incidentally, I think I spotted you at the most recent MtL release. I was not entirely sure it was you. But a guy (you?) and his wife/girlfriend (Mrs. Jbrews?) had a pour of MtL at a small table outside, then headed out. I was wasn’t entirely sure it was you, so I said nothing. But judging by the pictures you’ve posted, I think it was.

Looks like the final Cerise Cassee bottles are now available. Gonna buy like a billion and pass them on to my loved ones.
