I’ve seen bartenders stress out over kids crawling around inside the taproom before, so I’m all for keeping the inside an adult space in the evening. But the beer garden is such a huge meetup spot for young families, would be sad to lose that on a nice evening.

It's likely the same problem as it is inside, even with the more open space. It's hard for them to bus tables if kids are crawling around. Kids throwing rocks is a big issue too. Then there's the kids who were literally using the wet tables as a slip and slide...they do say things to these parents, but I imagine it's annoying to have to repeatedly tell adults to watch their children. Especially if there's a line inside for beer.

That being said, with the cold weather I can't imagine its that big of a deal since less people are out there.

Doesn't bother me too as a patron, but I don't work there either.

I think part of the problem also is that the taproom turns into a living room of sorts. A table for kids activities, a table for the adults. People stop ordering stuff and there are actual paying patrons with nowhere to sit.

Yes, I have seen this happen many times. And it’s real shitty behavior

We had beers and had to hover around one of those tiny pieces of wood that juts out from the wall (there were five of us). Then we were able to get one of the stand up areas in front of the bar and ordered pizza.

Didn’t stop us from ordering beers and having a good time, but we could have used a table.

We all know people who have been on these forums with kids and do a great job parenting and enjoying themselves. Unfortunately a few people ruin it for everyone.

Unrelated to kids, there’s NO Czech beers on tap right now. Something happened to all the Czech beers my buddy said he went there tonight.

We had a mechanical issue that prevented us from pouring Czech lager from the Lukr faucets. We’ll be back with four Czech pours tomorrow.

Phew! He didn’t specify what “something wrong” meant. Glad to hear they’ll be back for the weekend. Thanks for adding context!

“Those kids are a nuisance and taking up too much space and making too much noise!”- a person who parked their 5,000 pound, loud, belching, disgustingly huge vehicle next to the taproom even though it’s walking distance from public transportation and they are about to drive it home intoxicated.

The Brighton website, updated 10/15, has Hexen in cans, and Helles in crowlers for sale. Can anyone confirm before I get over there after a Home Depot trip? I promise to leave my kids in the car.

It's been pretty lax on enforcement of that policy for a while.
I have no issue with kids there but it's def a situation of the few wrecking it for the many as some parents just seem to think they're at home

There’s been talk of them canning pitch lined in the past. Curious if this will happen.

Wednesdays pretty tough for me to get out but if there's any left in Salem - hard to tell, doesn't look like they've updated the site in a week or two - I'll grab some this afternoon.
