Brasserie La Cabane (France) “Chronos’ Quadruple.,. Cheeers!

Thursday - Gateway to the werkend! Kicking off with a delicious Organic Quad, brewed with Rapadura sugar, giving it a molasses taste and color. Lovely brew.
Pop them tops now and Let’s Go!

    Hello!

Tripel Karmeliet, waiting for some snow in a bit according to TV weather reports. Seems to be the big topic of discussion of the day. It’s not technically winter and hardly unusual, what’s weird is temps will get back to near 20c/75F over the weekend.

    Cheers!

    Good morning,
this is a spontaneous fermentation with peaches (nectarines) that I always gladly take when I find them available.

Ca' del Brado (Bologna, ITA) - CUVÉE DE PESGA - Peach Sour Ale (7,8%)

37.5 cl bottle (€12.50) at the beershop.
A beer that I have drunk several times, even on tap, which was produced through the maceration of freshly picked yellow-fleshed peaches (quality "Nettarine"), in a blend obtained by selecting some specific barrels previously refined with Brettanomyces Bruxellensis, as well as yeasts and bacteria present in our cellar.
So it was produced through the maceration of freshly picked yellow-fleshed nectarines, in a blend obtained by selecting some specific barrels previously refined with Brettanomyces Bruxellensis, as well as yeasts and bacteria present in our cellar.
The fruit therefore has an aromatic value (pulp and juices during maceration), but above all it guarantees uniqueness (and variability, but well controlled) to each batch since the fruit also triggers a refermentation: due to the sugars and the contribution to the fermentation environment (yeasts and bacteria present on the peel).
This is my review, added to the database in the past:

    https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/51984/329487/?ba=Jack_14#lists

In this specific case, the bottle I opened was really very fruity (and therefore also sugary) and
the taste of the peaches was so fresh and vivid that it left in the background those woody and "cellar" reflections that usually characterize the end of drinking.
In my opinion, if you like a beer that fully releases the scent of the added fruit, in this form it is perfect.
Personally, however, I prefer it when the fruity flavor fades and those woody barrel hints emerge, with that light taste of cellar Bretta, which in this case remain light and struggle to emerge, remain in the background still in an embryonic state.
Even the typically acidic note is light and masked by the general sugary fruitiness.
In my humble opinion, if refined a little more in the bottle this beer can reach a higher and more refined level than the one in this bottle that actually seems too young to me.
However, I also know people who appreciate this very fresh fruitiness, so it comes back to personal tastes that are unjudgeable.
The way I am, if after the fruit you make me feel all that aromatic range that comes from the passage in "infected" barrels, the beer is of a superior level.
And this is also the reason why I keep some, like Cantillon's Fou Foune, in the cellar to mature... because if drunk too fresh it is very fruity and tasty, but I found it more banal than when, once the predominant apricot flavor has faded, the hints of the Lambic blend and the aromatic nuances of "cellar" beers emerge, beers in which among the unwritten ingredients there is Time and you don't have to rush to make it emerge.

What was supposedly some snow is turning to heavy snow eventually. Just made a GIF of a video, it’s been snowing for an hour and here we are:

That's what they call heavy snow in France? In my neck of the woods, we call that a dusting!

That was pretty much what we had in MN USA yesterday but there was a lot of wind, heavier snow to the NW, and it got colder than expected/forecast so it got icy. Lots of traffic snarls, accidents, spin-outs, rollovers, and 2 fatalities. I stayed at the toasty VB all day! Ha! And I might just repeat that action today :beers:

That was an hour into snowing, now we got about 5 inches, mild snow for New England.

Hello thirsty ones! The sun is emerging here after some crappy snow and low clouds are zooming across the blue sky. I believe a new beer would go nicely with my simple task of watching this watercolor scene in motion. Pinging this Tighthead Irie IPA. Nice! Full-flavored. Also time for some reggae. I love the horn arrangements on this tune & version. Cheers!! Enjoy
