Some of you may have noticed new ads on beer and place pages, forum threads, and elsewhere on the site.

    What's up?
    • Late last week we migrated to a new ad partner for programmatic advertising.
    • Ad frequency has increased, but then I lowered it a bit for logged in users.
    • Some of the more aggressive units have been disabled, but may return for logged out users.
    • I’ve been monitoring and adjusting all weekend, but overall I’m pretty satisfied where things are right now.
    • Once things settle, we’ll make additional adjustments as needed.
Issues? Feel free to reply to this thread or drop me a DM.

And, as always, Respect Beer Society members enjoy an ad-free experience.

    Thanks for your support!

Not only are there an annoying amount of ads on the site now, but the quality of ads representing fringe interests leaves a lot to be desired. Last week I saw an ad about Ivermectin and lingerie, this week its Gold bond and AARP. The user experience with this type of ad blitz is not great.

Not sure if you're approaching retirement age, but you might get a bit chafed when riding your healthy horse while wearing only lingerie. I wholly endorse this ad campaign. Cheers!

I don't understand folks defending an ad campaign that is pedaling non-evidence based medications. I understand getting perks by being a member. I was a member at one point and stopped because I didn't see the value. But the type of ads I am seeing are not normal ads.

Unless you like Gold Bond and ivermectin.

Wait actually aren’t most internet ads targeted these days? With that combo of ads Im scared to look at your browsing history.

The evidence totally supports that Goldbond with its formulated soothing aloe, plus 7 intense moisturizers and 3 essential vitamins give hands the deep moisture they need.

Trust me, it's pretty dull. As a middle aged man looking for knee ice packs I can understand the AARP ads. However, I haven't frequented or searched equestrian sites or fringe, non-evidence based conspiracy theory sites advocating for Ivermectin. However, just having written Ivermectin into the last several messages I presume I will now be bombarded with double the junk.

...if you want to have fun, connect to BA with a browser you don't normally use (or clear your current browser's cache and data) and connect using a VPN through a different country...I used Chrome and NorVPN with several different country connections (e.g., Tbilisi Georgia)...here's a screenshot from my Ireland connection (I do do intermittent fasting, weigh less than I did when I retired from the USAF 24 years ago, but am no where near like the 56+ image - I'll be 68 in a little over a month from now)...

...I like some of the humorous aspects of these ads but think I'll keep my Respect Beer Society membership regardless...

Don't fall for that ad; this intermittent fasting crap doesn't work. I fast between meals and I haven't lost any weight, and I certainly haven't redistributed my muscles to look like the pics in the ad.

...my way of intermittent fasting is to eat when I want to, not eat when I'm not hungry...I never plan things out ahead of time...plus, I don't snack as much as I used to, hardly ever have desserts, and may throw in more Guinness 0 with my beer mix through the weeks...

Purdue Chicken is super invasive right now. Grabs about 2/5 of my screen before I x the ads back into submission. That lasts about 30 seconds if I'm scrolling.

Yep. For the cost of 1-2 beers you're ad free for a year.

Is it for PERDUE® Beer Can Chicken Beer? I've been looking to pick some up so wouldn't mind an ad right about now.
