Celebration is always a Thanksgiving beer while smoking a turkey but this year I am mixing in a Pliny for pres and Molotov cocktail (BA stout by by mcilhenny).

Earlier today while attending a BCBS event with some buddies the craft beer bar had Pliny for President on tap and I ordered a couple of glasses of this beer. My first time drinking this brand and I am a BIG fan!!

    Cheers!

I picked up a Hardywood variety pack with different versions of their Gingerbread Stout. I also grabbed another case of Celebration.

Dinner is at my house - my wife and me and my three adult kids plus their plus one, plus the father of my middle son’s girlfriend who I have never met (my son invited her for dinner since my other two kids are bring their significant others, but that would leave him on his own for Thanksgiving so he will be here) plus a friend of my wife and her brother who is a pilot and has a layover so that should make a full table.

Now concerning the beer: pre-meal will be Dupont Avec les bons Voeux, main will be Tilquin Oude Gueuze Tilquin à l’ancienne and desert will be Gouden Carolus Cuvée van de Keizer (dark). That is what I’ll be drinking at least.

Also available: if anyone wants a “normal” beer there will be Moonlight Reality Czeck, if they want a dark “normal” beer there will be Moonlight 9 5/16 °P, if they want an IPA there will be Sierra Nevada Celebration since Thanksgiving is like a … celebration, and if they want to try something “not too hoppy” there will be Unibroue La Fin du Monde. Then if this doesn’t work out there is always the beer fridge to scour through.

I wish everyone a wonderful day.

Heh, I brought Celebration and Fin du Monde to our election night viewing party; one of the two would be appropriate for anyone. However, we agreed to drink whichever was to taste rather than outcome. To my surprise, Celebration was the most popular (several folks didn't want "too hoppy' beers) and Fin du Monde was drunk but not enjoyed. These are two of my favorites, but the spicing in the Unibroue may not be as egalitarian as I thought.

One of the desserts is chocolate lava cake, so I am pairing it with Chapman Brewing's Super Fudge Pastry stout and Alesmith Speedway Imperial Stout Ricky Road edition....because too much chocolate is never enough.

Toss up... 7 Moons Red Blend or year old Allagash Cureaux. Any advice.
