Chilly morning and this is a very tasty NEDIPA. Cheers all.

 

Good day BAs! Thanks @TwentyDimes for opening the virtual bar today! Third time thus far that we've had snow on the rooftops, first time it's dusted the ground. Naturally, Mrs. Lizard is off to a quilt coven retreat deep in the snowbelt Wednesday, just in time for the forecasted first deep snowfall in our area. Gots the snowblower ready to go!

Today's New Breakfast Beer:



Aroma – 4.5 – Woody with roasted malt, ghosts of coffee. No hops. No ethanol (16.66 % ABV as marked on label). By the ending temperature, the woodiness is gone, and the coffee has become noticeable.
Flavor – 4.25 – Lightly sweet chocolate malt, some mocha latte. Lacks the woodiness of the nose. Surprisingly, moderate gastric warming.
Final impression and summation: 4 (After deducting 0.25 point for an undated personal container) A very tasty rendition of a Russian Imperial Stout.

Poured into a 16 oz Snulip glass says Winter 2025 on the bottom. Pours motor oil black with a 2 finger mocha head that leaves nice thick streaks of lace with excellent retention. 4.75

Aroma is cocoa nibs, vanilla bean, a hint of coffee, and fudge. 4.5

Taste follows cocoa, vanilla, coffee, and fudge. 4.5

Mouthfeel is above medium, maybe a tad sticky but not dry, soft creamy carbonation, and at 8.2% that it says on the can it goes down rather easy, but it is very sweet. 4.5

Overall this very well made and tasty stout, but it is sweet as you can imagine. 4.5

Good morning BAs! Cold (for SW FL) 40° sunrise walk with dogs this am…not a long walk. We returned home and got right back in bed. The dogs have been fed and are roaming the sun soaked backyard. Kitchen chores done, it’s coffee time - BCBS (2024):



Bottled 6/4/24. Poured at 54° (patio temp). Chocolate & bourbon nose/tongue. Boozy at 14.7%. Not as chocolate fudgey as last year; nevertheless, great tasting. One of my favorite BBA Imperial Stouts. I’ll buy more of this beer, and the BCB Vanilla Rye Stout.

My plan today is do some chores here at the house…for instance, Mrs. Z ran over the new sprinkler head I installed in April, and the site is disgorging sand…a cool sunny day to fix whatever is broken. And the ‘fridge is full of Thanksgiving leftovers, and beer .

Happy Monday BA's! Hope all our northeast BA's are safe and warm from the tremendous amount of snow. Bunch of errands ran, wife's wine restocked, needed pool supplies, Auto parts store and shooting practice. Big Nose with some carnitas pork the daughter made. Happy birthday to @TheIPAHunter, I do believe it's your special day!!!
