    Good morning and happy Friday.
This is the beer that is the prelude to my weekend.

Stigbergets Bryggeri (Gothenburg, SVE) + Track Brewing Co. (Manchester, ENG) - MOUNTAINS - Imperial Coffee Stout with cocoa and coconut (13%).

Collaboration between the Swedish brewery Stigbergets (from Gothenburg) and the Track brewery from Manchester, England.
It's a 13% Imperial Coffee Stout with added cocoa and coconut (real ingredients, not syrups).
As soon as it is poured it releases toasted and roasted aromas, slightly reminiscent of (toasted) vanilla.
It's impenetrable black (no dark brown reflections, just black) with a fairly abundant beige (cappuccino) foam (more than I expected).
In the mouth, a liquid as dense as egg yolk on which the sweet flavors of the adjuncts (in this case: cocoa and coconut) flow and intersect, without ever becoming cloying.
The underlying taste is the soft, sweet and above all enveloping one of chocolate which is characterised by toasted (coconut) and roasted (coffee) notes and quickly reaches the palate that slightly bitter note of dark chocolate which is felt on the tongue and is quickly dampened on the palate by the sweet density of the rest of the beer.
The underlying sweetness is elementary but, especially for beers with this structure, it could have easily ended up with a product that was "TOO" sweet and caloric, instead in my opinion an admirable balance has been maintained, bringing out all the flavors described on the label without the product being cloying or even worse "artificial", as in Pastry Stouts in which lactose is (over)used, often creating that homogenization of the flavor that does not fall within my canons of appreciation (just like the use of culinary cream in sauces or gravies. - I apologize for those who use it, but it is the most fitting example that came to mind. Cream is a "corrector" in cooking, just as lactose is in beers such as Pastry Stouts, obviously to the detriment of the original flavor).
In this beer only raw materials were used, not syrups or various extracts, and this certainly helps to not make a product that already has a dense body "like whale fat" even heavier.
The alcohol content is evident but the extreme enveloping (both olfactory and gustatory) does not allow the emergence of any alcoholic/ethyl note, leaving itself perceived only as a warm sensation every time the beer is guzzled.
Complex but balanced, sweet and toasted, warm and caloric, tasty and satiating.

Love your review and sounds like a great beer to start your weekend @Jack_14 ! Also enjoyed your Nick Drake Trilogy @champ103 and the return of What Can I Say @LarryV Will definitely ping you next California trip @Resistance88 , hope you do the same if headed here .

Back with another early morning of pecan pie and Deep Woods, this selection my favorite of all BA releases, regardless of brewery.

Held up most excellent, enjoyed as if I was revisiting my first time experiencing this beer. Think 0-1 years is the best window, been drinking a few 2021 recently prior to this pull. Full take in the Cellar Review thread.

    G'day all!

What a nice Stout I'm sipping on. Just the right mix of roasted malt, dark chocolate, with hints of coffee. There's something to be said aboot straight up Stout without any added fixings and comes in at 6% abv.

    Prost!

Damn, this barleywine is wonderful but it is kicking my butt. Prophets of Hope Bourbon Barrel Aged Barleywine 11.7%. It's young, 8 months aged. A little rough around the edges, but light, low bitterness and not too sweet. They should bottle this for sure!
