80 months? Did they forget it was there or something? Dang! Almost surprised it had any resemblance to a barleywine at all!

Speaking of Barleywines, well, this one isn’t, but it’s close. No idea why I haven’t had this one yet, it’s been in my cellar for 2 years now.

The pour is a warm amber color that produces a reasonable light beige head, which is a little impressive considering the barrel aging and the fact It’s over 2 years old.
The taste, woo, where to start? Barley wines tend to be malt heavy (go figure) and apparently wheat wines are too. Loads of rich bready and almost fruity malt flavors that are surrounded with maple and bourbon, the specific combination found in BLiS barrels. Not sure they were, but the balance is very similar.
The feel is mouth lining and the viscosity to carry all that’s going on.
Tasty beer, think I’ll have my last one on a cold December evening soon.
Yeah, I was still gaming when I drank this; we finished the Blade Runner game a couple weeks ago and we’re onto Lord of the Rings, this one might take us a while. Lots of details.

Horrible new beer to end on. Avery Majestic Voyager DIPA, 9.2%; 2.74 overall

This was canned in September, nowhere on the mixed 12 box can I find any dating. Doom on Avery

Pours a slightly hazed gold with 2 fingers of beige colored head. Good head retention & better lacing

    S: Grassy, faint grainy notes

T: Seems like millet, pears, white grape, no discernable hop presence up front, dry. Still tasting millet or watered down Congi, a little citrus & grape as this beer warms up, but not enough to save it. Finishes a little dry with white grape skin & a little cardboard

MF: Medium body, low carbonation, body thins once warm, turns watery & grainy

Just a sorry DIPA, turned into a drain pour

    Well Hello Late Night NBS
Going to chime in with one I picked up at Trader Joes, like the esteemed @russpowell
    Joe-Joe's Chocolate Vanilla Creme Stout

Deep brown, khaki head is a full 2+ fingers in height. Settles in to a solid ring with light lacing, low retention.
Nose abounds with a full (but still pleasant to my vanilla-biased palate) vanilla and cream. But then some smooth chocolate notes, slightly sweet.
Flavor is fairly sweet and the vanilla really carries its weight but in a balanced way. The chocolate notes are mildly sweet with a smooth lactose creaminess that works well here.
Mouthfeel is medium, smooth, with low carb.
    Overall a fairly sweet ride.
