Another Monday and another tasty NEDIPA. Cheers all.

 

Civil Twilight here. Last of my 2023 "Drink Fresh" style beers. This like most held up well.

Final impression and summation: 4 So I’m a couple of months past EBD – no worries for a canned strong ale stored at garage temperature during a PA fall. This is one I rated 10 years ago (literally), back in the early days of my beer journey – then I didn’t like it; now, I do.

It's a tasty Schwarzbier local to Philadelphia. Lighter side of medium bodied with nice coffee, chocolate, and pumpernickel flavors and a roasty, charcoaly, slightly bitter finish.

Nelson used proper. Much better than I remember it being.

 

A Dark Horse Brewing Plead The 5th that's been collecting dust for over 10 years. This and the barrel aged were favorites of mine when I lived back that way. I had to search whatever happened to them and read about the criminal mismanagement. I hope for all the employees involved they're in a better place.

For a 10+ years old stout it has held up rather well. Still some carbonation left, smells of dark fruit. The taste is dark roast, some char/tobacco and dark fruit. A blast from the past that still has legs. Cheers from the cloudy and cold northern front range!

 

Happy Monday BAs! Nothing fancy this afternoon, just a glass of Carlsberg. Technically no longer an import, at least in the Canadian market - this was brewed in Kitchener, Ontario at the old Brick/Waterloo Brewing facility, which was bought out by Carlsberg last year. Cheers!
