It was on their FB a few hours ago that invites are going out today via e-mail and Oznr. Didn't give a specific time but any new members out there get their call off the waiting list?

Tried a small pour of Eclipse pixel and enjoyed it :sunglasses:

this eunoia might be polarizing. Interesting to see people’s takes.

I got invite for ambassadors and im on the fence. For current members, did you get guaranteed access to minutiae and arabesque ?

yes - this year, there was a guaranteed pre-sale for both. Occasionally, there is first come first serve (I think apple brandy depth of perception was like this?), and they’ve also had some releases where there was an ambassador lottery… and if you didn’t win that, you could try the public lottery or line-up (eg 5 year anniversary stout).

the right to buy has been nice for the rare releases you really want (Minutiae and Arabesque variants). I think the 5th year stout was one of the rare ones I wanted but couldn’t get (later bought in person). I think it’s still worth it but I’m more “year to year” than automatic like I was before.

I'm genuinely curious about "a lot" better memberships out there. Which memberships would you consider superior? I've previously been a member of de Garde, Black Project (lol), Main & MIll (LOL), and Private Press. Current member of Perennial, Pips, and Phase 3. I'd say Phase 3 is better than most the memberships I dropped and on par with the others I remain part of. What didn't you like about it? Their pricing is on par or better than most the other "big" stout producers, people complain about the lack of barrel but I've never felt it lacking, they take feedback/criticism from members and implement what they can, etc.

Rev membership to start. I'm not a member of More but the beer is more quality to me and there are member perks such as discounts for dining in. I would say those are vastly superior for my preferences.

The benefits you listed for p3 aren't very enticing for me. We all have different palettes but you definitely can't say there is a noticeable barrel taste. It's the least noticeable of most all breweries I can think of. And I have never seen anything implemented after feedback from members. It is nice though to get a bottle guaranteed of pretty much everything they release.

That's fair that you didn't find value in what P3 was offering. But a bit of hyperbole to say "lots" of memberships are better and then list 1 and caveat another. If you thought a food discount is valuable to the membership I hope you voiced your opinion as I'm sure others would agree (including myself). Shawn said that they are definitely considering some member food discount in the new membership at Elmhurst so they are listening to their members which is great.

I'm not going to argue your point on barrel you have your opinion and not moving off it which is fair based on your experiences. Hope you find what you're looking for!

they were doing 10% off for Ambassadors on Mondays over the summer. Would love to see that expand a bit more in terms of days of the week

Spot on here, the beers have also become very sweet. They were somewhat "balanced" at first, but Untappd has ruined them.

More doesn't have much more in terms of perks, but I think the beers have a bit more balance. Sorry for posting this in the P3 thread :stuck_out_tongue:

love this. Beer needs more Nintendo vs Sega rivalry.

I intended to drop my P3 membership. But after a beer share I may have renewed it and somehow entered (and won) the more lottery. Whatever. No more buying any stouts now until… oh, half acre and side project?! $20 a can? Hahaha, money is an illusion, you must give it away to achieve enlightenment. :innocent:

hmmm, You Know You’re Right. Whenever I see you approach a big stout, I frequently hear you proclaim to your glass “I’m gonna Drain You,” and by the end of the share you’re always asking “can you feel my Love Buzz” so I think maybe you’re on to something here.

Picked up my bottles this weekend and had a pour and I really enjoyed it. Smoke up front with barrel presence and then a sweet finish. Did not find the maple to be overpowering or too sweet.

Also drank 2022 Minutiae at Thanksgiving, and that was fantastic. Smoke, fudge and vanilla bomb.

Friend’s birthday last night, and we drank a Ghost Bear (delicious coffee bomb) and E smoke+maple (less maple than on tap, which I appreciated… or maybe just contrast to the coffee roast). Significant barrel on both. Chased it with a pour of Handy.

not a bad Wednesday night :sunglasses:

I honestly don't even remember signing up for a wait list or anything - i got an email with an invite and figured 'what the hell'

So we'll see how it goes for a year - $100, but not sur eyou get much with it. Guess I'll take it out of the no wife / no kids fund.
