While I will agree it’s been a weird LC year, it’s also a fiscal year ending February 28th so it’s not over yet and they’ve typically ended in a bang.

I think the only odd thing about it has really been this last dry spell. I recall periods of silence in the past, especially around BBT time but never for this extended period of time. To add to that, we know it hasn’t been completely “dry” because of all the Cellar anniversary releases. Which, my opinion of that waffles back and forth. One day I’m like “shouldn’t the draft and on-site options be enough to satisfy / reward the people coming to celebrate?” And other times I’m like “I guess it’s fine they did to-go releases because it honestly probably takes that to get the people there in the first place.” Either way, one idiot’s thoughts.

There have been more public-only releases this year than LC-only releases. Just kind of a tough pill to swallow.

Won't change my patronage or membership status at all. But lining up at the cellar or buying a library tasting ticket and getting better options than members seems awkward.

Man you're right - that's unreal. Hadn't noticed that, but you're absolutely correct.

It also won't change my membership status, but if I were a guy with two kids and had to actually ration my disposable income, I'd have to think long and hard about whether or not this makes sense. And I bet there are far more people in THAT category than in mine.

I’m in that category. And I think the best beers SP has done this year have been public releases that we didn’t get. It sucks but oh well.

I’ve seen certain employees of SP do this and it infuriates me. Sure some comments have a sense of entitlement to them, but there are legitimate comments that are laughed at or completely disregarded by certain employees on Facebook and it’s honestly a turn off on the company. No exactly a way to treat your ‘amazing supporters’

I’m a dimensional member and there is unfortunately no beer included. I get a shirt and a glass and free pour at the tap room and maybe discounts if you visit. It’s expensive for what’s included. But they are making my favorite beers fight now and honestly I’d probably keep them before SP at this point. It’s also only 150 members and has stayed there the entire 3 years I’ve been in it.

What's the cost of that membership and average barrel aged release? I've heard great things about them

$187.25 for the membership fee. Bottles have went up a bit lately but are between $35-$40 after taxes and Oznr fees for 500ml BA stuff. The things that hit Oznr public I’m guaranteed 2 bottles of before public release, and when they do their pickup of those bottles they have a second bottle that is IP only for public but members are guaranteed one of those bottles. So me being a non local, the true benefit is getting to get those smaller releases that are normally IP only.

You won’t regret it. I bought 4 of them and have drank 3 and will probably open the last around Christmas or new years. But I’m a sucker for PB stouts.

Thx for the feedback. Maybe I’ll add to the NYE bottle list.

Just drank Ambiente and Horchata. They are ok. Ambiente is not as good as it has been in the past. Also I reckon non BA stouts just don’t really do it for me anymore ‍♂️

Not hearing anyone talk about OWK. Did SP not have an OWK bottle this year? That’s always been LC only right?

Owk has only been in 2018 & 2023.

    MJK is 2021 & 2024.

Both times OWK did go to LC.

Off work for the next 20 days. Got a garage fridge full of BA stouts and Barleywine. Making some gumbo so I had to have a drink. Cracked BBT 24 since I have 3 bottles. It is pretty pretty pretty gooood! Cheers everybody!

Hoping this dry spell is due ti the fact that there are some exciting beers closer to the member parties

I'd like to understand why Le Saisonnier and DH Le Saisonnier aren't listed anywhere on the website or the to-go menus. Really enjoy those and probably would have purchased multiples if I could.

Would the next OWK be in 2028, then?
