Should be plenty left for at least a couple days. I wouldn't wait too long, but if you swung by today or tomorrow I imagine it should be on tap.

Had a couple last night, really great! I might even like it a wee bit better that the Pils version

The malt character was excellent. I had it side by side with Helles Stadt. Stadt tasted hoppier in comparison, and I definitely enjoyed the Pitch Lined more.

Tough to say if I like it better than Pitch Lined Pils, they've done it multiple times and I've preferred certain batches over others.

I recall the first (or one of the first) times they did it that it reminded me of super fresh Pilsner Urquell.

Ah shit! I was down that way today and completely forgot about this. Rain had me eager to get home before the 128 traffic began.

ah well. I'll be down that way more often starting the beginning in January. I feel like Notch should probably be a weekly/biweekly visit. Actually, you said you like Backbeat. Maybe that's a stop if I'm going to be in Beverly.

Oh yeah, Notch is right over the bridge from Backbeat. Only a two mile walk and obviously a short drive.

Backbeat typically has five cask engines running at all times (mostly English ales too), and they know what they're doing there. Great old school pub feel to the space. Jazz on Saturdays too, nice atmosphere. Pete, the owner, is very active in NERAX, he was even the Grim Reaper one year (let me know if you need clarity on what that means).

Gentile is maybe a one minute walk away on the same street too, they also do cask.

You can definitely make a full day of it.

Pitch Line Helles is excellent. Did not feel like the pitch was as strong in the balance as on the last batch of pils, but that is no knock on this.

At Notch right now, pitch lined helles is still on and delicious. Two little kids running around the taproom and parents just chilling eating pizza. Mom occasionally chases them down but they keep going. Ruining it for responsible parents

How long were you there? I got there in time for the jousting. It was packed. I started with Pitch Lined Pils, but moved on to my beloved Cerne.

No Polotmavy. Renaissance nerds taking over. What happened to this place? :cold_sweat:

Saw the flyers advertising that, it was a combat reenactment?

The part I found odd was that it emphasized all ages welcome, but it started at like 8:00 I believe. Seemed like some miscommunication about what the policy is. Was it in the biergarten?

Planning to be there for open tomorrow, hoping the pitch lined has lasted.

I wasn’t there but was told it will be in the Biergarten. I’ll be there today, probably earlier, come say hi if you’re still there.

I’ll be the guy wearing pants and a shirt.

I was there for a few more Pitch lined Helles around 7:30, Jousting cosplay was in the biergarten, but place was packed. King Richard's Faire with way better beer:rolling_eyes:

Yeah, it was like hand to hand combat with full knight armor, they had set up a ring in one of the gravel sections. Kind of a combo of boxing, sword fighting, and a little Judo. Started around 6.

    Salem closed 1/6-1/17 for renovations.

Knocking down the wall to the private room. Getting rid of Skee Ball replacing it with Darts. Adding a wood fire stove.

Darts sound good, stove sounds cozy. Will miss skee ball.
