Dragging this over to 6, given our fast start, I thought 7 was a possibility this weekend.

Part of my Kansas Haul; Manhattan Brewing Co. Reserve Series Gingerbread Winter Warmer aged in Buillet Rye Whiskey Barrels, 10.5% ABV; 4.14 overall

Pours an effervescent & slightly hazed amber with fast-falling beige head. No head retention or lacing

S: Gingerbread with whiskey spilled over it, some Rye Barrel notes

T: Follows the nose, pronounced barrel/booze with plenty of Lebkuchen mixed in, some dryness & leafy hops up front. Some honey notes fight through along with cinnamon & nutmeg, boozy warmth, a little bit of dark cherry & figs as well once this beer warms up, a little kiss of pine needle as well. Finishes with Gingerbread, rye barrel & some pine

MF: Medium body, slight carbonation, slightly warming

First beers from these guys, hello! This is how you deploy these spices. This makes me think of a Wassal, nice Rye Barrel kick

All Day Single Hop IPA by Founders featuring Mosaic.4.7%

Poured from a twelve ounce can, the body is a faded golden color with white head. Light lacing.

Aroma is a delightful mix of floral and tropical notes. The taste follows the nose and features a sharp bitterness from the mosaic hops. Not much going on, but simple can be fine.

Mouthfeel is good and tingly but soft. Solid carbonation.

A simple beer that does the trick for fans of bitter hops without being adorned with a kitchen sink of other flavors.

Have a good NBW. We picked up a 19 lb turkey at Aldi for $20 last week, and my wife baked her first turkey ever. Did pretty good, but the temp was in the 180s so We pulled it a bit too late so it was a bit dry. Made plenty of gravy thought and it was good. My wife used a recipe by Mark Bittman. She accidentally splashed some water on the element during the 500 degree sear, so got a fireball in her face, but she slammed the oven door immediately to put it out. She burned a little bit of hair but she's ok

New Belgium Tropic force. BB 01/19/25. This was a great hazy DIPA. Aromas and flavors of big lightly tart pineapple/mango juice, tangerine, apples, passion fruit, guava, berry, citrus peel, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, dough, herbal, floral, grass, and a bit of yeast earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body. Balanced bready/grainy malt and sticky hop mouthfeel. Lingering resin drying, no astringency. Mild warmth of 9.5%. The hop flavors balance perfectly with the mango/pineapple juice flavors. A bit dankness from hops all around. Very soft hazy mouthfeel. 4.1/5
