    Good morning.
I conclude my tasting of Basque beers with a truly remarkable Imperial Stout:

Cervezas Brew&Roll (Paternáin, SPA) - PERRO NEGRO - Imperial Stout (9.5%)

It's an Imperial Stout in which moderately toasted oak chips (soaked wood) and Ardbeg whisky (one of the most famous Scottish Single Malt Whisky from the Isle of Islay, with a large amount of peat) have been used.
Warm, toasted and charred aromas (especially chocolate, roasting).
As you can see, when poured it releases a foam of the right amount, beige in colour tending towards light brown.
In the mouth you find a beer with a full and enveloping body, in which notes of dark bitter chocolate stand out, hiding more typically peaty notes (smoky notes, rancid wood), which remain gently in the background compared to the predominant taste of cocoa.
Before the serving temperature cooled a bit in the glass, I noticed a hint of licorice that then evolved and integrated with those of dark chocolate.
Light notes of roasting that accompany that delicate peat finish.
A beer that warms, without ever revealing an alcoholic ethyl note.
Once the sip is swallowed, the palate has enveloping notes of dark chocolate that fade (always gently) into woody and peat notes, while the tongue remains slightly drier with hints of toasted cereals, which recall the roasting (more than the peat of Ardbeg).
Let's say that the peat is kept very under control and does not emerge as in other beers with these characteristics, but the result is still a very balanced and pleasant to drink product: without sharp edges, but also without being banal or too sweet.
I have never drunk a single reference from this Basque brewery, but I must say that this Imperial stout was truly remarkable, for my tastes.

Thanks for opening the VB @FRANKHAZE . Clearing the cellar continues with this selection I performed a Cellar Review for in February. This is my final can, and it's at the same solid condition as 10 months ago.

    Revolution Cuvee De Grace (2019)

Would say FW's Annual Anniversary Cuvee is most comparable to these releases. Both typically are very good plus, but would pick this over the FW if offered only one.

This is the first version of this song I recall ever liking from the early morning set yesterday. Hammond B3 makes everything better.

Good day BAs! Thanks @FRANKHAZE for opening the bar - it's real fine at 0409! And @Jack_14 - excellent review as always but I have no idea what "rancid wood" tastes like (and I don't think I want to learn).
    Today's New Breakfast Beer:

Final impression and summation: 4.5 Two legibly dated cans in a row! And the second-best non-B.O.R.I.S.-based beer I’ve had from the Frog in some time. Both very easy drinking and tasty – just don’t drive or operate heavy machinery afterward.
    Rating 4.32, rDev +2.6%

    G'day all!

I'm starting with a local Crowler from Mountain Hops Brewhouse. Copper Cup Coffee Porter. Decent rendition. Pretty one dimensional.

    Prost!

I put the rest of the Crowler aside for now.
I'm sipping on this Winter White Ale from Allagash. Very spice forward indeed. I've been sipping on it for a while and I'm just now getting the taste of ginger. Pretty nice.

    Prost!

What I meant is a woody note, but not a rounded or smooth one that refines the beer.
But a note of rotten wood, of bark, which with its sharpness (in this specific case, moderate) emerges from the sweet background context of the beer in question.

Lunch beer BAs - Pacific Torpedo West Coast IPA:

A new variant in the mixed 12 pk. Bitter lemon peel and pine. Light sticky feel. A solid WCIPA, if a bit on the lighter side. Good to see SN adding to their Torpedo series.

Outside it is 42° and raining. Rest of the day will be cold (to me) and rainy. Today I will stay put and work on decorating and more Christmas cards. Cheers and have a wonderful Wednesday y’all!
