Alaskan Baltic Porter (9.8%): A Baltic Porter from Alaska with flavors of rich chocolate, fudge, hints of cherries/bourbon with a strong vanilla bean flavor.

I love a good Russian Imperial Stout or Baltic Porter often without the BBA. Rich, flavorful, and without any overpowering bourbon flavors. This is their Pilot series and my first try at this. Pours beautifully. Strong cocoa, fudge, and vanilla bean. Some hints of cherry/bourbon, but subtle. The vanilla flavor is pronounced and lingers. It's nicely done and described by the brewery as "gourmet". Couldn't agree more. Often times vanilla flavors in beer comes across as plastic-like and artificial. I usually hate it. This is the first beer I've had where it actually tastes like true, organic vanilla. Like a chocolate fudge sundae. This is unique and amazing. I shouldn't have expected anything less from Alaskan Brewing.

 

NFL Redzone and Stone IPA. Bengals (still somehow mathematically alive)winning a must game. Cardinals in trouble. Eagles winning. Cheers!!

 

Enjoying this delicious local stout from Timberyard Brewing in East Brookfield MA. Brewed with roasted cacao nibs and vanilla beans. DVD just arrived so I will be watching that later this evening.



Just put this spiral ham in the oven for dinner tonight. Will serve it with baked sweet potato and baby peas.

Gnosis Agents of Doom IPA (Citra/Motueka). One of my favorite hop combos. Awesome juicy and bright citrus character, bringing lime, lemon, and orange zest, clementine, ripe ruby red grapefruit, and key lime. Passionfruit and ripe mango come through as well. Soft with a dry and semi bitter finish. One of my favorite IPA’s by these guys.

 

L´Amer IPA by Brasseurs de Montreal. Best canadian IPA so far.

 

G'afternoon BA's!

I have, basically, a half day of work tomorrow as our Xmas party will be the other half of the day.
Soooo, that means another beer for me...plus the Eagles are looking pretty beat up in this game.

The hop bill on this has all my faves: Centennial, Citra and Mosaic. When I saw the dates, I had to pick up the 4 pack! Less than 2 weeks old!
