Various meats are about to go on, paleolithic caveman style.

But first a Guinness roasting on an open fire...

For a black lager, this beer is really good, but it trumpets it's smoke character and I find barely anything resembling that, perhaps a bit of fireplace ash. Great for being a black lager, pretty so-so for having any smoked beer qualities.

I just seen Total has some available. I may try to pick up some soon, seen they can be cellared a year on their website if I'm not mistaken. Tbh I forgot what I paid for them, 10.99 a 330! Jesus! 1 of the most expensive beers I have bought. I must've drank a 6r to. :scream: and to think I could order them online if I was over there. I'd be drinking so goood! I cannot wait for my next vacation to that area. Family is going to be like wtf is wrong with this guy! :joy:

Narragansett White Christmas. A pretty good not too heavy handed winter warmer and killer label/packaging. :sunglasses: Cheers! :beers:

Yosemite Pale Ale from Mammoth Brewing

Light lemon-lime aroma with a whiff of bread. Crisp and spritzy on the tongue, just the way you like it. Taste is rather elegant, with the lightest bit of malt and a green herbal hop taste. Some flavors of melon and a Euro-like flowery note. This is actually one of the most likeable beers I've had lately, especially in the quaffable range. If they packaged it in 12 oz cans it would be ideal to keep around for a gulp.

I agree. Another angle is the hogs here. If we didn't get involved their numbers would shoot the fuck up and they pump out babies like nobody's business. Destroy so much crops in a single night. I grew up hunting and understand our role. I wouldn't shoot those pet doe's because they are basically pets tho. I want more of a challenge for the meat to.

...the burgers look awesome and the coals look like they can cook / smoke other things, too...going to quick sear some bone-in hickory smoked rib eyes (that I initially smoked yesterday)...baked potato and tossed salad and some high ABV holiday beer(s) to accompany things...

I haven’t had this beer in at least a decade. It’s better than I remember, with lots of toffee and caramel flavors, with some cinnamon and ginger adding spice notes that are delicious. Really good stuff, IMHO.
