Back at home and cracking into the penultimate beer in my Reuben’s advent calendar — today is Reuben Claus, a peppermint porter. I think the peppermint would work better in a sweeter or more chocolately beer, to be honest.

It's still good.

It's still good. The old camera thought that the background was more important than the foreground strikes again. I had to toss one yesterday. It was just too blurry. At least this one still says " I want be there drinking this beer"

What do you think of it?

 

Master Shredder. An IPA brewed by Veil. Picked up a four pack at the local seafood store. Bought 1.5 lbs of cod and 1.5 lbs of cocktail shrimp.

 

Is it beginning to look like Christmas? Well it did for a bit, but now the snow is almost all gone...still cold.

At my Parents house in Champaign, IL. My pupper Moe is not liking the cold weather ha. Being from Texas, he does everything he can to not go outside ha.


Me, on the other hand love sitting by the fire with a good book and beer.

Really getting into JRR Tolkien's Collected Poems now, which is 3 volumes. I started this way back in September, but was kind of saving it for this time, as reading Tolkien or watching TLOTR's is a tradition, like reading Dickens' A Christmas Carol is.

Anyway, found one of my favorites, that I haven't had in a while, because it has basically been gone. Samuel Smith's Stingo, English Strong Ale. By the fire with Tolkien, that is about perfect.

I really dig it. Yup it's that dry, clear, hoppy elixir that SN seems to nail everytime. I've only had that one so far but I've had Torpedo and Atomic Torpedo both so good. This seems like this will be a multiple pack purchase for me.
