I have a nice selection of imports around me in various liquor stores but still, there is so much out there and i love trying new beers.
What is your experience in special ordering imports?
I love German beers and European beers.
Just wondering what your experience has been.

I recall a thread in the past year or so about shipping international, but I can't find it in a search of this forum. However, I did find a thread with a brief mention of this website. https://beerizer.com/ so maybe it's a start. With this reply, at least your thread gets bumped to the top where it will be more visible.

I'm with you on this. If you end up ordering, be sure to post your experience. Biggest hurdle I see is the cost of shipping, even if they can legally ship to GA. We have some odd alcohol laws here.

Same with Michigan and its protectionist laws. If anything crosses the border of this state it's contraband unless there is a ton of red tape paperwork that accompanies it.

I m sorry but it’s stone age mentality.

I will try my local liquor stores.

    Thank-you

It's ridiculous. Schneider Weisse Tap 7 is by far my favorite Hefe. I used to easily find it. I have two stores near me that stock it sparingly. Hard seltzer? No problem finding that junk. Great German imports. Ugh.

If you live on the north side of ATL, I may be able to direct you to some stores to find certain imports. But it is a wild goose chase sometimes. Cheers!

Michigan has a good-sized wine industry, hence the main reason for the protectionist laws, but beer came along later and are also benefitted by the same laws.

Max Fine Wines & Spirits on Market Place Blvd in Cumming has a good selection of Belgian and German beers. Westside Beverage in Forsyth also. Their regular beer section looks small but they keep Rochforte Belgians and it's one of the few places I can find Schneider Weisse Tap 7. Local Vine in Johns Creek is another place you can find some different Germans. Hope that helps!

Wow, great. It’s not far like 30mn for the Cumming ones.
I m trying to find some Germans online to see if they have gone this route and could help.
Also have you ever asked liquor stores if they can special order?
I think Totalwine does, next time i m in the store i will ask them (Face to face is better than calling).

    Thxs again

I've gotten to now the beer manager at Max in Cumming. His hands are pretty tied by who the importer is and of he can move it. I asked about Rothaus Pils, which they had in once, but he said that is very hard for him to get. I'll ask him again the next time I see him.

I will update this thread for anything i might find out.

    Happy New-year!

The thread is for American craft breweries shipping to the States.
A Belgian one is listed however but i knew about that one.
It seems only Belgian companies ship beer direct to the States in Europe.
They must have more relaxed laws.
I m about done looking, there is just no way to get a variety of German craft beers shipped from Germany to the States.
Next time i go to some bierfest i will ask, especially Germans living in the States.
But the 2-3 Belgian MO’s offer some good beers too.

    Thanks

    Pat
