Definitely a couple of steps up from Captain Morgan’s, I cringe just looking at the picture of the bottle.

Heartwood - a west coast Pilsner collaboration between Fog Belt and New Glory.

This is basically a modern wcipa/pale ale. Nice bright hop flavors that include raspberry, papaya, green melon, bitter pith, and overripe apricot.

Pretty enjoyable of that's your thing. I enjoy it because it reminds me of the New Glory ipas i enjoyed that are no longer distributed here.

Fog Belt is a cool brewery too, glad they're seemingly doing well still.

Rübezahl Kellerbier from Replicant: Shell out of a sketchy Shell gas station right next to a pee bush in Pasadena.

The beer out performs the venue.

This is a soft and bready German style lager. A little sweet for me, but I'd say it's a bit above average for the "rustic lagers" you typically find in the US

would that be the Shell station / epic beer mini mart right across from the gold line station and Stone tasting room?

When I was out that way recently it looked like they were putting up some new signage, marketing more of being a beer spot.

Yeah they had a big Replicant Shell sign on the side of the building when I was there.

It's a weird spot for sure, but a killer selection and the whole premise of Replicant Shell is very interesting.

Adeena Pils from Highland Park Brewery

Lemon peel in the aroma. Lively and spritzy on the tongue with a light body. Some hints of sweet malt and a bit gummy and resiny. Sort of plain and cereal tasting at first but quite tangy with a lemon finish. Or maybe it's yuzu! Rather bitter after some sipping. Overall this is a highly quaffable lighter beer.
