1) BlackStack Spare Parts (5.3%): A European Dark Lager from Minnesota with flavors of dark grains, dark chocolate, and yeast, hints of cark fruit.
versus
2) Drekker That’s A Real Nice Ski Mask (5.1%): A German Schwarzbier from North Dakota with flavors of dark chocolate, sweet espresso, dank earth with some sweet chocolate cherry and raspberry notes. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner: BlackStack Spare Parts
Dark Lager Battle. First is BlackStack Spare Parts. Nice Euro dark lager with some hints of dark fruits. Nicely done
Next is Drekker. Quite similar, but has some interesting sweet dark chocolate, cherry, raspberry flavors. Good, but a bit sweeter than expected.

Out of my element with a NEIPA today. I'm still a bit puzzled by the style. Why not just mix up some fruit juices, add vodka, and and save yourself some money?

On an ice road earlier today, back from the town of Lillehammer. This is way different compared to commuting where I'm from. Car is fitted with winter tires of course and I have snowchains for backup. But sometimes I really wish for 4x4

1) Drekker Seal Of The Deal (8.2% canned 10/22/24): A NEIPA from North Dakota with HBC 586, HS16660, and Nectaron Cryo for flavors of orange, grapefruit, green grape, guava, lychee, and fruity pebbles.

2) Drekker Metaphase (8.2% canned 11/18/24): A NEIPA from North Dakota with Citra & Nelson Sauvin for flavors of lemon and orange citrus, green citrus and juicy pine. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner: Metaphase
Happy pre-NYE Monday. Drekker IPA Battle today. First is Seal Of The Deal, a collab with Other Half. This has a great combo of HBC 586, now known and Krush and some HS16660 which is new to me. Fantastic green grape and melon flavors. It's also holding up well. Fantastic collab.
Next is Metaphase, that has that craving combo of Citra and Nelson. White grape, grapefruit, with a floral bite.
Drekker used to be sort of hit or miss, but lately it's hard to find one that isn't up to top tier quality. They've reduced the hop burn they used to allow more robust flavors and a more smooth drinkability. Drekker just keeps getting better.
