Altstadt - Schwars

 

1) Phase Three Out For Delivery (7.8% no canning date): A NEIPA from Chicago with Centennial and Simcoe for flavors of yellow lemon, orange, pineapple, papaya, and mango.
versus
2) Toppling Goliath Fire, Skulls, & Money (7.8% canned 11/8/24): A NEIPA from Iowa with Citra, Mosaic, Galaxy, and Nelson for flavors of grapefruit and orange citrus flower, vinous white grape, gooseberry with some pine and berry to balance. Juicy, complex, and clean. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Going into New Year's Eve IPA Battle with a couple of greats. First Phase Three Out For Delivery. First try at it. Interesting hop combo for a NEIPA of Centennial and Simcoe. Some yellow lemon, pineapple, mango from Simcoe with some hints of apricot and pine from Centennial. Very nice.
Next is Toppling Goliath Fire, Skulls, & Money. Grapefruit, white grape, berries, with some citrus and floral bite. Outstanding. Fire, Skulls if I have to call a winner here, but just going to sit back and enjoy both of these breweries

 

Healthy dose of snow-be-gone past couple days.

Feel bad for my skimobiling buddies but this thaw is alright with me currently.

Today is brew day. Brewing another Pete's Wicked Ale clone. I can't get enough of that brew, I friggin love it!
It's Union break time as I wait for the wort to come to a boil, so it's"Miller Time."
Von Trapp makes fantastic lagers. I haven't had one I didn't like yet.
The Helles is a beer of beauty.
Happy New Year's Eve to all and please be responsible on the roads.
