Wish I was able to snag the maple latte, but damn this vanilla one is good. Especially after a long night of drinking and then up bright and early with the kids.

Having had the 11/25 batch of Julius I gotta say it never quite hit the spot for me. I had 8 cans over the course of it being 2.5-6 weeks fresh and it never quite hit the spot. My last batch I had of this standard full printed can core Julius from August/september 2023 was sooooo good. And it remained that good thru 2 months in the can. This thanksgiving ‘24 batch of cans did kind of foam up when opening them. And it poured with a little bit more of a rocky, wispy, airy head then I’d expect. My cans kept cold chain and were never overly roused besides driving 3 hours secure in a packed cooler with ice.

The Woodstock Julius and the JJJulius I had from around that same thanksgiving can date batches were really good. JJJulius at around 5 weeks and the Woodstock Julius at around 3 weeks were both peak Julius that I remembered from my standard August ‘23 batch. So many other beers from my thanksgiving ‘24 haul really outshined Julius. Including green and Gggreen, alter ego, dddaze, and Woodstock sap. Kind of a bummer because Julius is my favorite treehouse beer, but I’m glad I got to have the Woodstock and JJJ versions. Alter ego thanksgiving ‘24 batch was fire so that scratched the itch for me thankfully. I’m just wondering what the hell happened to this Julius? Would expect it to be the most dialed in. But then again I’m no stranger to batch variation and understand how many factors could contribute to this happening, so overall it is what it is. Just thought I’d share to see if anyone else can concur.

Curious as to why the switch of coffee cans to the “High Noon” slim can and why they had to make it 350 ml as opposed to 12 ounces? All of the coffee previously was 12 ounce cans. If the price has remained the same(which I’ll look back to see if I can verify), and they sell it in big volume. They are essentially making a good profit on less cold brew per 4 pack now. It’s strange. Somewhat of a minor thing, but I think if it was Julius people would be all over it.

The can in the photo on their ordering page says 12 oz. and 355 mL. Price is the same at $12 a 4-pack. Not sure why they switched format, but content and price seems unchanged.

This is the lowest cam offerings we have seen ima long time. And two of the new releases were 2pp. Dry January doldrums at their finest.

$28 for Tree of Grace (500ml) is a little steep. Especially when it's a style I would want two of so I can try it fresh, and then age the other. I want it, but...

@VodkaPong87 was absolutely right about Green Machine. Got damn it's so good.

Not happy that they drop Haze Machine the day after I go but I no longer get fomo so I'll get it another time.

Also I'm starting a baseless conspiracy theory that Evolution of Citra Part One is just Eureka with Citra. Maybe they didn't like how Eureka was turning out so they were like ok we're just gonna do (another) Citra hop showcase series. Yolo.

I'm fine with it but my palate couldn't tell the damn difference regardless.

I missed bottles whenever it was released - 2023? - but looks like they put Ghosts of the Half Moon - Space and Time aged in Pappy barrels - on draft in Charlton.

I didn't even know this existed. What in the world did they charge per bottle?

12/27 batch is tasting stellar - normal J. I occasionally notice some variations batch to batch but nothing that amounts to more than a sped bump. But - my palate isn’t the most perceptive after the 60 years of beating it’s taken lol. I think when you compare the scale up of J over the last 10 years - it’s been remarkably consistent. Other iconic NE brewers that didn’t fare as well - Hill Farmstead/Edward scale up in 2015/16 was a disaster and Trill Congress St/FPPA had a similar rough patch around 16/17. :beers:

The 12/27 was a little rough out of the gate. I let it sit for a few days and it was very good. I usually like my TH as fresh as possible, so this was unusual for me.

I went yesterday. Despite being the Seinfeld Soup **** of brewing, their beer is always great IMHO.

I got three-day-old Milky Julius and one-day-old (!) Haze Against the Machine. I've never had a beer hide its ABV (8.4%) as well as Haze. Haven't tried Milky yet, but it sounds amazing.

They're really trying to test my "spend less money on beer for a little while" will power with these barleywines

Milky J is good but needs a week or two. As long as you don't pour the whole can it's not too bad.

Honestly it's what I'd expect a literal "DDH Julius" to be. I know that's basically jjjuliussss but still.

I’m curious how far they can go with the permutations. Over 1,000 beers listed on BA from them. I think they should go back through the catalog and re-release some rare offerings. For example: TWSS hasn’t been brewed in over about 2 years, as discussed in this thread a little while ago
