Good morning everyone and best wishes for a happy 2025 from me.
Before posting the review of the bomb opened at midnight on the first day of the year that you will see shortly, I will tell you about the beer with which I had a detoxifying aperitif from all those endless lunches and dinners last night.
So... let's take a trip to Sardinia:

Birrificio Canesciolto (Perfugas, Sassari, ITA) - GARÇON ATTENTION À LA SAISON - Saison with wild blackberries (6.5%).

Accompanied by a little "Pane Carasau" - a particular type of bread originating from Sardinia that looks like a very thin circular sheet of durum wheat, this type of bread is subjected to a first cooking that involves the swelling of the bread disks and then to a second cooking that is carried out after cutting each bread disk in half.

As soon as it is uncorked, the nose smells of wild berry jam.
Dark amber red color, with ruby red reflections but more cloudy.
As soon as it is poured it releases a large but very evanescent foam, which disappears like that of a crodino or a prosecco, to remain only in a superficial layer at the edge of the glass.
In the mouth, a classic entry of a Saison: you can recognize the aromatic range of that yeast that is quickly overshadowed by a wild taste of red berries (obviously it is blackberries, but if I hadn't known, in the general context in which this scent emerges, it reminded me very closely of that of blackcurrant - even if most likely the acidic note would have been more accentuated than what actually emerges).
Here the acidic note is light and not very astringent and has the main function of leaving the tongue clean (without dehydrating it), leaving delicate and pleasant notes of berries and "funky" cereals (wheat) on the palate.
Very good Saison with berries in which the structural characteristics of the base beer emerge and in which the addition of wild blackberries integrates perfectly into the context without "obscuring" the main structure and its classic characteristics.
Last, but not least: I drank it when it had expired 9 months and 16 days ago... IT HELD PERFECTLY.

Hello BA, and happy 2nd day of 2025 to you all, especially @Jack_14 and @dcotom, for kicking off the thread today.

This is Little Hazy Lager, an excellent mid-strength beer from Little Creatures, one of the OG Australian craft brewers still going strong in its original location in Perth on the other side of the country from me and in its second home in my hometown.

    Cheers!

It's exactly my "midnight beer" of January 1, 2025.
Drank for the first time* in October in keg at the EURHOP 2024 Festival, drunk several times in the glass at the Festival. It impressed me.
    In bottle, perhaps even better.
You can feel the WHOLE aromatic range of Gorilla Pepper, with a very controlled spicy note.
I say that among the "new" products, this is one of the best Cantillon I have drunk in recent years.
I will add my review soon, also to the database.
And I'm telling the truth... it won't be short.

    * Actually this is a half-truth: it's the first time I drank "ASHANTI", but I had already fallen in love with this beer when it was still "only" the ZWANZE 2022.
Evidently, it didn't just hit and sink me... since it has now entered the "fixed" line of Cantillon with the name, precisely, of "ASHANTI".

Good day BAs! Thanks, @Jack_14 for opening the bar and for the delightful review!

We have about an inch of snow on the ground and it's 24 degrees F (-4 C) - looks like we're sliding into February weather a bit early! (Although I guess that's pretty warm for yinz up around Frostbite Falls, MN!)

    Today's New Breakfast Beer:

Final impression and summation: 4.25 An easy drinking, very tasty, IPA, probably the best I’ve had from MBC.
    Rating 4.25, rDev -1.2 %

I REALLY like Warrior hops and wish more brewers used them.

I've consumed a lot of Lunch, but when they came out with these two beers, I found Another One even better for my personal palate. Haven't had it in a while, but it's an excellent beer, and due to the hype around Lunch and Dinner, overlooked (IMO).

We see virtually NO MBC down here - I've had Lunch but no Dinner. I like Another One better than Lunch, but this one was 30 days past BB date - still delicious.

Good morning BAs! Stayed up late (for me) then slept in…getting going with BA “Existential Bliss” Imperial Stout from Humble Forager Brewery, Rochester MN:

Canned 10/24/22. Poured at 54°. 19 months blend from Buffalo Trace, Bairdstown, Heaven Hill & Templeton Rye barrels. Cocoa nibs from 5 different regions. Vanilla beans from 5 different regions. Lots of chocolate and vanilla 2 years out. Bourbon in the mix as well. Thick and creamy feel.

Waiting for the house to warm a bit before hitting the shower. Outside it is 34° and 20mph wind gusts has the feels like at 22°. I may run an errand this afternoon, I may just stay home and finish off the last of the IPAs and watch the Sugar Bowl.

Have a great day, and Cheers from South Charleston, WV y’all!
