I noticed recently Funky Buddha did a recent batch of Snowed in. It also just reappeared on the Top 250 list. I believe it was probably inactive (not retired) due to no one reviewing it for 2 years but now someone recently reviewed it and it’s back on the list. My question is is it the same beer as Last buffalo in the park? (Also a top 250 beer). After reading the two descriptions they’re exactly the same, (imperial ba versions of last snow with coconut and coffee) and even have a very similar label. Anyone have any insight? @not2quick
I was thinking the same thing Ryan. Seems like the same damn beer. From what I remember Last Snow was replaced by Last Buffalo In the Park.
In looking around, it seems the difference might be just due to the barrels used for aging the beer. It seems Last Buffalo In The Park was Last Snow aged in Buffalo Trace barrels (reference) so it's possible Snowed In just uses non-BT barrels. Seems based on this old post, they had used Heaven Hill barrels in the past for Snowed In.
