Rang in the NY myself with VSO On & On Part 3. That is one bruiser of a beer...but I enjoyed every ounce. Happy New Year to Rev and all the FUPA Gods out there.

You can tell it's AI because the building is curved.

It was using a fisheye lens perspective. Can neither confirm nor deny the AI part.

Just as Rev takes away (brewpub RIP), Rev giveth with something I’ve asked for many times, West Coast Hero 6 packs. I foresee this being a very frequent purchase on my part!

I've not had the 12oz cans from the Hero variety pack. Is this the same beer as the DDH West-Coast Hero (Simcoe, Centennial, Cascade, Amarillo and Citra hops) which had been occasionally released in 16oz 4 packs? Seems to be the same ABV and Rev's link to West Coast-Hero shows the 16oz label so it seems likely to be the case. I've had the 16oz cans and thought they did a very nice job of scratching my WCIPA itch. Looking forward to this.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there were some subtle changes, but the branding does seem to be consistent. The draft version has tasted more or less the same to me the past few years.

Here are the descriptions if anyone was curious

Celebrate the final release of this Deep Wood Series with a legendary collaboration and the next incarnation of Lumberstruck.

Public presale beings at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, January 21 for the release on Friday, the 24th.

Oakpocalypse Later (Barleywine Aged in Rye Whiskey and Red Wine Barrels) 4pk

This continent-spanning collaboration with Firestone Walker was aged in WhistlePig Estate Rye whiskey barrels with added single-origin French oaks for twelve months, and finished Sur Lie for an additional six in freshly dumped French oak red wine barrels from Herman Story Wines. A vortex of vinous, lumber-derived cherry, vanilla, smoke, and disturbed earth emanate from a swirled glass in this, our most wood-focused beer to-date. “How come all you guys sit on your helmets?“

Lumberstruck II (Black Barleywine Aged in Bourbon and Amburana Barrels) 4pk

Unique and highly expressive barrels age a beer developed just for them, in this never-to-be-repeated articulation of beer, time, and oak. Sweet, spicy Brazilian Amburana barrels give their essence to this sumptuous, sweet Black English Barleywine.

Barleywinery Double Barrel V.S.O.J. (Barleywine Aged in Bourbon Barrels) 19.2 oz can

Uniquely expressive barrels of our most beloved Barleywine, blended to perfection for a one-of-a-kind Twenty Ten Variant entry.

Cool that the FW/Rev release is cheaper than Rev/FW FOR ONCE and it sounds same same.
Love both breweries, hope they collab on an Imperial Stout tho

Draft Variants for the release weekend per Marty's email:

For the release weekend we’ll have two of my all-time favorite variants pouring on draft flanked by a few TBA library offerings from both Revolution and Firestone Walker.

    • Other People’s Barrels (O.P.B.) is an unblended, unfiltered barrel of Barleywinery V.S.O.J. finished sur lie in a Herman Story Petit Verdot “heavy lees” barrel. It’s a beer/wine hybrid made from our signature sweet, old, Barleywine rather than the typical dry and sometimes wild Farmhouse ale. Possibly the most bepurpled beer to ever come from the stacks, it’s weighty and malty like our signature Barleywine, with a veritable wall of acid and oak delivering a denouement of drying fruit tannin, vanilla, caramel, and toasted brioche in a flash. For my money it’s the most unique draft variant we’ve executed to-date, and a riot at that.
    • A raucous affair if there ever was one, Rioter’s Reserve 2025 is a triple barreled, triple French oaked rendition of November’s D.B.X.O.D. Le Tronçais. This single barrel of sweet component Deth’s Tar spent roughly one year apiece in Weller, Blanton’s, and Buffalo Trace barrels, with a triple dose of fire-toasted virgin French oak from the forest of Tronçais. Gobs of oak share center stage with the concentrated fudgy, boozy aromatics even before the beer warms, and dabble in absurdities near room temperature. Bountiful tannin and alcohol conspire to create leggy drips in profusion, decorating the walls of the glass at even the suggestion of a swirl.
We’ll pour the majority of these two variants’ volume the weekend of the release, and save just one or two small kegs for festival season. So if you want to taste both of these curiosities you’ll need to make it to the brewery the weekend of the 24th-26th.

It sounds like they'll be pouring some Firestone Walker beers during release weekend also, if I read the (extremely lengthy) email correctly.

Not sure about retail, but two of these have already shown up on Tavour. I preusme the third (Barleywinery) may be on the app as well eventually.
